The Brisbane Lions coach has been told his position is safe until the Round 15 clash with Gold Coast, but after that there are no guarantee

It's agreed. The only thing that might stop Voss being the first coach sacked this year is if the AFL follow through and convince Paul Roos to take over the hapless Dees. After Gary's Suns do a number on them at the G today that might become a certainty.

BTW I predict Dawes will take two marks today and drop ten! :P

Voss is in a lot of trouble. The Lions win the NAB Cup, but they haven't shown anything to suggest that they'll improve this year. As a matter of fact, they're going backwards pretty quickly.

I would be surprised if Voss wasn't the first coach to receive his marching orders this year. Neeld might still be the first coach to receive the sack if Melbourne lose by a 100 points consistently for the next few weeks. Is there any chance if Melbourne were blown away tomorrow against the Suns that he would be sacked?

Voss is definitely gone, and I have to be honest now, Buckley is on notice. He'll get 2014, but another ordinary season and he'll be gone.

Can't sugar coat it anymore Eddie.

it's about the trajectory as much as the actual results. today the lions looked infinitely better than they have been. if they keep that up voss will survive.

we, on the other hand, are heading south. we talk about injuries as a mitigating factor but there is something else nqr.

The best thing about Toss being told he's "safe until round 15" is that you just know that means he could be gone at any moment from the time his safety is "guaranteed".

Goodnight Irene Mark Neeld.

Peter Jackson will strike very soon. Just depends if Roos is ready.

GC Suns 74 to Melb 25 at the start of the third quarter. Hopeless.

Poor Mark 'Harry Potter' Neeld. He deserved better than Melbourne. I hope he bounces back from this setback.
