I know there was a thread on what younger people today will never get to experience but CBF finding it.
Was remembering when you needed to take photo film to the chemist/supermarket to get developed (unless you had one of those fancy Polaroid things or a black room) and waiting days or weeks to find out if you had your eyes shut or fly undone in that wedding/family shot.
Also knowing someone was bound to glance over your photos at some stage prior to you picking them up also meant what you photographed needed to be "nice"

Typos in The Age. Is anybody proofing over there these days?
"We could have just thrown in the towell and given up," Armitage said.
West Coast was hapless to stop the Richmond midfield.

On the proof-reading thing at The Age:
"The tour organiser released a statement saying Sir David was extremely disappointment he would not make it to Australia."

French president mixes up two nations in Tokyo press conference. Translator tries to fix gaffe, but French speaking journalist picks up mistake
AFP: Published: 06.07.13, 17:46 / Israel News
France's Francois Hollande was left red-faced in Tokyo on Friday after a slip of the tongue that saw him confuse his Japanese hosts with the Chinese.
During a press conference Hollande, speaking in French, referred to the Algerian hostage crisis in January in which 10 Japanese nationals died, saying he had "expressed the condolences of the French people to the Chinese people."
The president, who is in Japan on a three-day state visit, made no attempt to correct his mistake.
A quick-thinking female interpreter fixed the verbal gaffe as she gave her simultaneous translation, rendering the sentence as it had been intended.
However, at least one Japanese journalist with knowledge of French picked up on the error.
Relations between Japan and China are frequently testy, clouded by differences over history and coloured by a territorial dispute.
Polls in both countries show distrust of the other nation is rife and neither side's nationals like to be confused with the other.

I am in Pattaya and last night was with a few mates when a drunken bogan Aussie woman came up to us. She was late 50ish but had the tatts and the slutwear dress more suited to a 18 year old hooker and she was well not the correct weight. Women over 30 should not wearsee through blouses unless they are models. We were opposite the &%%& Inn (google to see sign) and she complained about the Thai bitch in the &%%& Inn stealing her brand new Samsung phone. Could we ring it. So my mate did but no answer. She proceeded to tell us how she left it on the bar charging and went to another bar for 2 hours and got back and it was gone. We sort of said well you have to expect that in this place and it is probably sold. She then let go with a string of expletives, our Thai girlfriends were not amused.
"I even took photos of their fish tank"
So I am looking across and said" Why don't you ask in Armegeddon Bar"
her response was "Why would I do that you dickhead"
My response" Because you dopey bitch, they have a damn fishtank"
She storms off, walks into &%%& Inn abuses the staff and is walked out and into the bar next door where a minute later she rushes out, head bowed and holding a Samsung phone" Straight past us and not a word.
Some people should not be given a passport.
