Re: Unacceptable
Stupid post re Buckley being accountable. At half time it would have been even more stupid. Was more about the players than team selection.Heater_39 wrote:Weak effort that.
2nd half lacked character.
Selection terrible. Buckley must be accountable for this.
No Pressure, No Diamonds
They used to be a happy team at hawthorn.

The way we are playing, god it is boring, but that's par for the course with afl these days.jack_spain wrote:The forgotten man Jackson Paine says hello. But then he's too tall. Buckley likes them no taller than 175cms.doriswilgus wrote:

I love everyone assuming the next five are in the bag. Reckon port blues and suns will be licking their lips to expose our deficiencies. If we do get through unscathed with this team of youngsters and out of form oldies plus the has beens, will be a good effort.
What we all want to see, of course, is a strong sustained run to the finals against the top teams in the last five weeks.

I do think we need to bite the bullet and play another marking tall forward.
Cloke has been great but Lynch has barely hit the scoreboard all season.
Paine would be the only choice in the short term with Keeffe another option down the track if his form warrants selection.
With Keeffe in the side we would have the option of swinging Reid forward if we wanted as well.

Agree totally. Paine is the most likely, but not sure how he is going in the 2s. Maybe Grundy can be played as a forward ruck with Lynch playing more the second forward.swoop42 wrote:I do think we need to bite the bullet and play another marking tall forward.

Guess it all depends how they are progressing in the reserves.

Gault is made for the role, but alas, we have decided upon making him into a backman, and by golly, we are sticking to it!
Paine had a very quiet day today. Don't expect to see him any time soon.
I think Goldsack has been a more important omission than perhaps might seem at first glance...

Unfortunately you are quite right Big T. The game wasn't on the TV up here so I had the Melb Storm game on the box with the sound down and listened to the Pies call on the internet radio. The caller of the Pies game said the Dogs had kicked the ball backwards 13 times in the first half. Glad it wasn't on the TV.Big T wrote: The way we are playing, god it is boring, but that's par for the course with afl these days.

A bit disappointed that we couldn't put them away like Geelong/Sydney/Hawthorn would have done, but then they're not playing so many young guys and having to deal with so many injuries to our best 22. Still it would have been great if they didn't take their foot off the pedal in the second half. Plus our draw sucks.
Does anyone know why Ball didn't play? Didak needs to play vs Port, as well as Goldsack up forward cos Lynch is next to useless atm. Cut that bloody finger off, or else get it fixed! Can't wait to get Beams, Krak and Young back.
