Too many hackers and not enough talent. Thats what happens when you don't use your draft picks properly.
Gibbs looks like he doesn't want to be there
Absolute disappointment.
I honestly don't think the Curnow's and even Cachia's are going to be part of our next premiership team.
Why hasn't Laidler and Duigan been used more? We saw how those two players were very good 2 seasons ago, Mick hasn't really even given them a go...
Armfield, Betts, Simpson have been extremely disappointing this year.
We'll have to win 6 of our last 8 games to make the 8 this year ... not going to happen
no matter what game plan he had this team is not a top 8 side it was 2-3 yrs ago but not know. Roos said it pre game Carltons window has closed due to very poor recruiting
Joffa puts on the gold jacket.
I'd have put it on half way through the third quarter.
Not much missing from best 22.
Club is in crisis.
just as well this is our best 22 - hope they lose by 20
Robinson has eroded to hack status. Offers nothing and his trademark hard edge is gone.
On the scrap heap.
don't laugh but Melbourne are probably now in front of us

Don't want to steal MagpieBat's thunder here, but there are a few people on facebook who aren't too happy with the blooze performance tonight.

OK Jack, Ratten could coach, and beat us twice in one year. The old fart cant beat us, end of story, he has not improved the shit team one bit, a bunch of kids pantsed his mob.jack_spain wrote:Anyone who says Ratten could coach and Mick Malthouse can't is seriously demented.
I just don't undestand the feline jealousy that exists when people seem to be wishing the worst on Mick. He won us a flag. Was unlucky not to win two more, and had we not appointed Bucks, might have had us primed again in 2012 and 2013 (even with the injuries).
But anyone who says Mick Malthouse can't coach is a total nincompoop! He looks a whole lot better than the current muppets who occupy our coaches box!

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
- The best thing about Carlton being in the AFL's pockets and getting every draw they want and requesting so many friday night games over the last couple of years is I get to watch them get smashed most weeks!!
The best thing about this week - WE SMASHED THEM!!!

Stick a fork in em!
We need a rebuild this list is pants.
shocking devastating awful
4 weeks ago, we were told that the next 4 matches would define our season. how right they were
And you know what, mate? LET'S HOPE IT IS THE BEGINNING OF THE END!!!!No excuse for such an inept display. Don't even know where to start.
Felt like I was watching the death of my club right before my eyes.
We didn't bring in MM for a full rebuild but that's what we need.
Gutted. Ashamed. Disgusted. Broken.
Its not Gibbs and Murphy Kreuzer that kills us.
Its all the other wasted picks.
We dont have a midfield.
Answer who can come in from the reserves to play midfield???
Ridiculous situation....!!! :yikes:
We have rookies that are vital cogs in the midfield....
Cant do without them....or were shitter!!!
mediocre club
We're nowhere.
Time for change, the club knows this group is finished.
All week we have made a point of big list changes coming, so the good news should be some kids getting exposed to see what they can offer.
I would be giving Mitchell first shot for a month.
Oh, NO YOU DON'T! **** OFF!!! Wallow back down in the also-ran bracket where you *&^*(&%$% belong!Williams
Thomas
Seeds man
Hudson
Dwyer
Witte
Macaffer
Blair
Kennedy
Elliot
Sinclair
Young
Seriously, I'd trade anyone for thier recruiting genius. We could keep all our current number one picks and top up trading out Hampson, Warnock, Curnow and the rest. Contenders next year!
positives - mcinness returned and acquitted himself well.
Sadly that was it.
We have attacking players - stop !@#$%& tagging every opposition player and back ourselves in to beat them.
Moving henderson forward was a mistake - killed our backline. Jamo/henderson have developed a good combination -> stick with it!
Play duigan/laidler and release simpson/walker into the midfield - choose ONE of curnow/cachia/robinson (the wild/crazy variety)
Stick casboult forward and leave him there to roam rather than running him into the ground
..too many pick and choose when they go 100%.. ....as we see yet again, too many passengers..
NOW YOU KNOW HOW WE FELT!!! SUFFFER!!!Casbolt cannot play afl level. Defensively he is terrible. Sad part is he is going to have to play AFL for the next month.
So many players out of form and an unbalanced list leaves us with no options.
The trade talk this week and some of MM comments looks to have shattered the players trust in him.
Should have made some changes last preseason and got the ball rolling on a reshaping of our list. Ego got the better of our Mick.
I can't stand that guy.
The thing that annoyed me the most was when we had the monster lead in the first quarter. Then when Simpson gets a mark he signals to slow it down. As if they should be playing for time at that point? Lack of killer instinct. From that point on Carlton did what he suggested. Stopped. Collingwood got in.
Please tell me Waite has a turn up and play part of his contract.
Positive: A number of papers were stamped tonight
Ried tackles Waite, hurts his knee.. Waite goes off and Ried goes forward, kicks a couple. The whole backline forward changes for both teams.
Casboult. Where did you go? Not alone. NB's show some form.
Forward line setup was a disgrace when Waite went off. How the flower we expect to win with small forwards only is beyond me. Joke of a setup. Magpies defence had a field day picking us off. I'm sick of seeing such setup.
Our midfield is and has been setup with taggers and no ball winners. Joke of a structure. Simpson is wasted back. Flowering joke.
Can't believe the lack of self respect shown by the players tonight, words fail me, except the swear words.
Up to your old tricks again, huh?! NOTHING CHANGES DOWN AT FILTH PARK!!!Play kids rest of the year. Go the draft picks.
MUCH LIKE THE REST OF YOUR TEAM!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!As soon as Waite went off it went to shit. The thing is I can't even remember him doing that much.

We had our best side in.
Collingwood were missing several key players.
To be slaughtered like we were disgusts me beyond belief.
Our lack of a key forward was cruelly exposed tonight, as was the lack of heart in our mid-field.
Let the debate begin about what we need to trade for Tom Boyd begin!
1 more thing, feel sorry for Ratten!
I think tonight has confirmed to everyone, not just some supporters that a full rebuild is required
In a sense, tonight was a positive as the club can now get on with the job of doing this properly
However, we will need to suffer some real pain to get there
Unfortunately, we have a few more years in the wilderness
I am starting to feel like a St Kilda supporter (shocking)
Malthouse was right a few years ago when asked who's the most important person at the club. He said the Recruiting Manager. Without a decent one of those you're fk'ed.
I thought match committee were going to give 100%
Let's be shitter for a while to get un-shit.
Aw, what? You mean, all that tanking was for NAUGHT?!When u have 3 number 1 picks offer nothing you are screwed
About as pointless as your mob turning up tonight! How pointless was that goal review in the third quarter?!
left at start of 4th. along with most other fans. bloody freezzzzzzing.
this is the team that ALWAYS lets you down.
This is a team of passengers.
Right now we play like MM's personality.
Dour and grumpy.
Noflair, no joie de vivre, no artistry. not even moments of joy to be had in a developing side.
just loss after loss.
we've beaten one side from Victoria this year.
Can only coach what's put in front of you. The problem of so many bad years and tanking for picks is the culture goes out the window. Hence when the going gets tough players go missing. Can take years and years to get around.
And sinking like a bloody stone!Hang on !!
Last year it was all about Ratts matchday coaching being Shit. If anyone questioned the players they got "you will find Mick will get the best out of these players and you will find they will really blossom".
We are learning this year what we (everyone but Mick) already knew.
We have taken a massive leap backwards. Not one of them 'one step back two step forward' ones either.
