I'm not sure if anyone remembers this song, from before 1990 but I thought it might be a decent one to sing, It's really good.
If anyone knows the rest of the lyrics get them on.
But I know it's called the flag by Jan Wotsystiki (I cant spell it)

I got me floggers and me Beanie, me scarf way down me side, my badge that tells the universe I barrack for the pies
CARN THE PIES
Some may laugh and some may cry and some may just say never, but when the flag is flying high, side by side we’ll all be there
Because were gonna win a flag and make the world turn upside down.
"Carn the Pies"

In the grog squad plus in the cheer squad.
We are the premiers
The mighty premiers
and we are mental, and we are mad
we are the loyalist, football supporters
the world has ever had.

You're a legend geordie matt! I'm definetly in agreeance about aussie supporters, same old boring "aussie - aussie - aussie." How many times do I have to hear "you are wanker" again?

In 98' and last year I went to the cricket with an English mate of mine and sat in the Barmy Army for the Boxing day test and the one dayers, we just had so much fun. Their chants are creative and more often than not humerous (something aussie fans never are), such as the "ball 'n' shane" one. These chants have the same motives as "aussie - aussie - aussie" ect... while not being boring and repetitive.

If you want to start any Barmy army style or premier league one, i'll help get em' going.

And for everyone else check this out...this is a complete list of the common barmy army chants. I'm not saying we'll use any of them, just look at them and be inspired.

and some soccer ones...

http://home.wanadoo.nl/maarten.geluk/songs/

and yes many of the cricket and soccer ones are too long for aussie rules...but there are plenty of short ones.

not only are the lyrics good but you should hear them and there are some soccer sites where you can listen to the crowd singing the songs and it also has the words

When are you people going to learn that the people in the cheer squad are there to start chants but to also watch the game. If you want to sing your soccor chants, go to a soccor game.
If you want to sing some aussie afl chants that arent 'boring' come stand in M3 one day, after all, they are the songs that are featured on the army cd. We'd be happy to accomodate any new ideas but as long as they are catchy and are not too long. After all, we are there to support and watch the game. Majority of songs are sung after a goal is kicked, thuis means you have about 1-2 minutes of chanting. Unlike soccor where your lucky if a goal gets scored, best way to stop the boredom is to sing all game. Same for cricket, can get pretty boring at times.
