LEIGH BROWN: Gippsland Power (TAC Cup), 193cm, 92.5kg, 17yrs - CHB/Ruckman who has had an outstanding year winning TAC Cup Coaches Award and representing Australia as a member of the AIS/AFL Academy squad against Ireland. Good mark and very quick for his size. Topped off his year winning Power's Best and Fairest Award where he is highly regarded by coach Peter Francis.
JONATHON BROWN: Geelong Falcons (TAC Cup), 194cm, 94kg, 17yrs - Strong marking CHF/CHB who impressed in National U18's gaining All Australian honours. Expected to sign with Brisbane Lions under Father/Son Rule - father Brian played for the Lions - becoming selection no. 30 overall. Ran 3rd in Falcons Best and Fairest Award.

JOEL COREY: East Perth (Westar Rules), 188cm, 79kg, 17yrs - Prolific possession winner either midfield or in defence. Member of AIS/AFL Academy squad 1999 contesting youth series v. Ireland and winning the Ron Barassi Medal as the Series' best & fairest player. Has had a consistent year with East Perth and WA in AFL U18's Nationals where he won All Australian honours.

Very impressive for WA in National Championships winning All Australian honours and continued his good form with Claremont. Agility showed out at AFL Draft Camp with top 10 performance.
STEPHEN DOYLE: South Adelaide (SANFL), 204cm, 91kg, 18yrs - Ruckman who has received All Australian honours at U16 and U18 levels over last 3 years. His strong marking is a feature of his game and has signed under Father/Son Rule to Sydney Swans with his father Robert being a Swan in the 1970's. Will be Sydney's 2nd round Draft choice (No. 26).
COREY ENRIGHT: Port Magpies (SANFL), 188.5cm, 79kg, 18yrs - Talented ruck rover who reads the play well. Has good skills and work ethic. Won the Eastern Eyre Football League "Mail Medal" this year in country South Australia and his club Kimba Districts Best and Fairest Award. Played a handful of games with Ports Reserves/U19 teams to gain experience.
AARON FIORA: Port Magpies (SANFL), 184cm, 77kg, 18yrs - Left footed wingman with excellent hands and strong overhead. Made a brilliant SANFL debut with the Magpies in a best on ground performance immediately after the AFL U18's National Championships where he also showed potential for SA. Originally from Naracoorte in south east South Australia he is a 2nd year apprentice carpenter.
ROB FORSTER-KNIGHT: Murray Bushrangers (TAC Cup), 185.5cm, 79kg, 17yrs - Left footed, flanker - wingman with a touch of class. Quick, agile, runs the lines well. Represented Australia against Ireland as a member of the AIS/AFL Academy squad and Vic Country in the AFL U18's in 1999. Year 12 student at Cobram Secondary College.
JOSH FRASER: Murray Bushrangers (TAC Cup), 202cm, 88kg, 17yrs - Strong overhead and excellent kick for goal. One grab player with excellent recovery. Aust U17 captain v. Ireland as a member of the AIS/AFL Academy squad 1999 before illness interrupted 2nd half of his season after dominating the TAC Cup to mid year. From Mansfield in country Victoria where he is completing Year 12 this year.
LINDSAY GILBEE: Eastern Ranges (TAC Cup), 178.5cm, 69kg, 18yrs - HF/wingman/RR who has had an excellent year including representing Vic Metro in the AFL U18's and running 3rd in Ranges Best and Fairest Award. Carries the ball well and kicks long. An apprentice carpenter from Coldstream, Victoria.
DARREN GLASS: Perth (Westar Rules), 191.5cm, 85kg, 18yrs - Close checking CHB who made state senior squad early this year. Agile and reads play well. Has courage in marking contests and was a key member of WA defence in U18 Nationals gaining All Australian selection. His agility run at the AFL Draft Camp placed him in the top bracket in that particular trial.
BRAD GREEN: Tassie Mariners (TAC Cup), 184cm, 80kg, 18yrs - Won Harrison Medal - best & fairest - Division 2 at AFL U18 National Championships as well as All Australian honours and Mariners Best and Fairest Award in 1999. Classy left footer from Northern Bombers with sure hands and long penetrating kick. Australian representative in underage cricket, he comes from Georgetown in Northern Tasmania. Had try out with Manchester United before focusing on AFL.

Strong mark for his size who uses ball effectively. Dominant player for WA in U18 National Championships winning Larke Medal (best & fairest Division 1) and All Australian honours. Capable of playing in many positions including wing, half back or half forward. A member of the 1998 AIS/AFL Academy squad and the Vic Country U18 team over the last 2 years. Strong mark.
TIM HAZELL: Tassie Mariners (TAC Cup), 186cm, 83kg, 18yrs - Strong marking forward from Hutchins College in Hobart, who is an excellent kick and capable of playing both ends. Has now recovered from late season shoulder surgery and presented himself well at the AFL Draft Camp.

An exciting attacking player who gained All Australian honours at the AFL U18's this year with outstanding game against the Victoria Country a highlight. Ran 3rd in Cannons Best and Fairest Award.
ROBERT MURPHY: Gippsland Power (TAC Cup), 184cm, 68kg, 17yrs - Very promising player who has the ability to play as an attacking forward or tight in defence. His pace and vertical leap put him in the top bracket at the AFL Draft Camp for athletic potential. His .97 seconds for 5 metres was the quickest at the Camp. From Warragul, he is currently doing Year 11.
MATTHEW PAVLICH: Woodville/West Torrens (SANFL), 191cm, 94kg, 17yrs - Highly regarded centre half forward whose excellent senior year with Woodville/West Torrens earnt him State senior selection against the VFL where he kicked 3 goals. Strong mark and an excellent kick he also represented SA at U18 level for the past 2 seasons. Year 12 student at Sacred Heart College, Adelaide.
EZRA POYAS: Prahran Dragons (TAC Cup), 183.5cm, 87kg, 18yrs - Goal kicking forward or attacking defender who captained the Vic Metro U18 team in 1999. Gained All Australian selection at the AFL U18 National Championships where his strong marking was a feature. Capped off a great year kicking 5 goals in the winning team in the TAC Cup Grand Final at the MCG.
RHYCE SHAW: Preston Knights (TAC Cup), 181cm, 69kg, 18yrs - Quick, agile wingman who finds plenty of the ball and is smart around goals. All Australian following impressive performance in AFL U18's Championships. Eligible to Collingwood under Father/Son Rule where his father Ray captained the Magpies. Will be taken as selection no. 18 to Collingwood.
DAVID SPRIGGS: Prahran Dragons (TAC Cup), 174.5cm, 72kg, 18yrs - Smart rover who wins plenty of football in the contest. He also possesses great speed and aerobic capacity, with his level 15.06 in the beep test at the AFL Draft Camp ranking him No. 1 for endurance. Vic Metro U18 representative this season and premiership player with the Dragons where he was amongst the best.
SCOTT STEVENS: Perth (Westar Rules), 191.5cm, 76kg, 17yrs - CHF who is strong overhead and has good skills and can even play on a wing. Member of winning WA U18 team at AFL Nationals this year. Has grown 5cm this year and has further physical development to come.
PAUL WHEATLEY: Preston Knights (TAC Cup), 187.5cm, 82kg, 18yrs - Hard working CHF/CHB who is very athletic. Excellent overhead and good kick for goal. Gained All Australian honours at AFL U18's this year with his 25 possessions and 10 marks against Victoria Country outstanding.
