Yippee!!!
Freeman: 184-185cm
Scharenberg: 190-191cm
Langdon: 189cm
Marsh: 191cm

Certainly no midgets there. And none of them are considered key position, all supposedly with the potential to play midfield, or at least as running flankers.
Well done boys!

Welcome to Collingwood Matthew :D

It's fantastic to have a big and versatile player drafted by Collingwood. This guy is said to be the second best player in the draft according to a few sources behind Tom Boyd. If this kid can rip it up in the pre-season I reckon he'll be pushing for senior selection easily.

This man has all the attributes to be a 200+ game player with the club. He's a great user of the ball, has great awareness, can take a good mark and he's very attacking-minded as well. There aren't too many weaknesses you can spot in him.

I'm absolutely delighted that Derek Hine and his fellow colleagues have drafted this kid over James Aish. He's going to be a gem for the club :D

relax, Dave, think Grundy and how he recovered so spectacularly. There's no need to rush the kid, we'll give him every opportunity to get his feet 100% right.

I was thinking the Same thing that Grundy had to wait. Though he did not get Drafted with his Injury but Shezza might be a big Help in the 2nd Half of the Season.

Scharenberg the next Selwood

Pies hoping that Scharenberg may be the next Selwood.

Also was only going to take 2 picks but when the players got over looked, could not resist.

"Obviously there was some speculation leading into the draft but to come to a club like Collingwood with such rich tradition, and to play under 'Bucks' and hopefully alongside some of the most elite midfielders in the competition, I am absolutely stoked at the opportunity."

Is it just me, or is every young kid we recruit genuinely thrilled knowing they'll be playing under Bucks?

So much for the BS rumours about players not liking him ;)

Should be ok, Dave
Collingwood recruiting chief Derek Hine said yesterday Collingwood's expert medical advice over the sesamoiditis was that he could play as early as Round 1.

"Our guys are really confident he will be ready for the start of the season at the earliest and at the latest maybe four or five or six weeks into the season," he said.
