The leftovers - rookie draft.

^He's still training at the club according to track watchers so appears likely.
I know Snoop Dog over at bf doesn't see much hope for Gault making it but who knows.
I would have preferred we take a chance on Conlon even if it meant taking him in the PSD in order to make sure we secured him.

He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD!
Confirmation that we will only have the one selection in the rookie draft and will therefore not be participating in the PSD.
No confirmation the selection will be used on Gault though appears likely.

Gault been training with the Club since his De-Listing so I highly doubt we would pass GaultStupied wrote:I really hope we cut our losses with Gault. He's been listed for 2 years and hasn't managed to do anything notable in that time. If anything he went backwards this year.
If we re list Gault while Conlon is available I will spew.

Much as I like Gault's potential, if I have to choose i'll take Conlon. Please.Stupied wrote:I really hope we cut our losses with Gault. He's been listed for 2 years and hasn't managed to do anything notable in that time. If anything he went backwards this year.

Lots of players train with clubs before the rookie draft Dave. Doesn't mean the club is obliged to take him if there's a better option available.Dave The Man wrote:Gault been training with the Club since his De-Listing so I highly doubt we would pass GaultStupied wrote:I really hope we cut our losses with Gault. No they haven't committed to him or confirmed anything. They flagged their intention to rookie him, but the official F/S rookie lodgment was on Monday and it came and went with no peep from the club.Dave The Man wrote:Yep been Confirmed by the ClubRick wrote:Sorry but haven't we committed to Jake Kelly in the rookie draft?
More than likely means that Hine won't commit to him because he feels there is a better option available to us.

I agree Stui but it does seem like that the club is committed to Gault otherwise we probably would have drafted Conlon last Thursday already, but there is the fact that Conlon is a very risky pick and therefore the club may opt for a rookie selection where there's nothing to lose.stui magpie wrote:Much as I like Gault's potential, if I have to choose i'll take Conlon. If there is nothing to lose, then risk is irrelevant, so why not pick Conlon then?Jezza wrote:I agree Stui but it does seem like that the club is committed to Gault otherwise we probably would have drafted Conlon last Thursday already, but there is the fact that Conlon is a very risky pick and therefore the club may opt for a rookie selection where there's nothing to lose.stui magpie wrote:Much as I like Gault's potential, if I have to choose i'll take Conlon. I read that this morning. The feeling is akin to watching your mother in law drive off a cliff in your brand new Mercedes.Pies4shaw wrote:Emma Quayle is reporting that Collingwood has passed on Jake Kelly and will re-take Gault.
