At the moment I'm counting down the days until Monday rolls around and I can watch Boardwalk Empire, the Goodwife and most notably, Homeland.

Homeland is the best thing on TV just now, but I want to mention a real gem that seems to have fallen under the radar. Perhaps it was discussed here, and so apologies if I bring it up again, but did Southland get run here in Oz?

Very much in the mould of The Wire, but without the street cred, this police show set in Los Angeles focuses equally on the police and the lawless, gun-toting America we see in reality every night.

Series 1-4 are excellent, but Series 5, which I watched this week, is outstanding. Have a look or PM me!

Homeland has definitely picked up the pace from what was a kinda slow and disappointing start. Last night was awesome.

I haven't watched it, but there's a lot of criticism about the newer episodes that it's getting 'soap operaish' and has slipped from brilliance into chaos. Interesting to hear a different non critic opinion.

Early on this season I would have agreed. It became a bit of a chore to watch it to be honest. But the last 2-3 episodes, for me, have lifted it back up to season 1 brilliance. Looking forward to see how they end it.

How sad was it??? The acceptance of what would happen to him, that last look through the window. I was totally taken by surprise how much it got to me.

Me either. It was brutal!

I don't know if I like who Jax has become. :(

Yeah he was better when he was a soft touch!

But the doors open for peace now, with Tara too, and I think only 1 season remaining? Happy endings?

Still can't believe they killed such a central character!

Keating. ABC TV. Tuesday nights.

Simply riveting TV. Astonishing television in a 1:1 interview. Apparently they had more than 16 hrs of interview that they reduced to 4 x 1 hour shows broadcast weekly. This is week 3.

iView for catch up TV.

Remarkable.

Although I've already watched it online, I bought the first breaking bad final series DVD out the box today, such a brilliant show.

I'm waiting for the full series boxset. Amazing show I could watch over and over. And although it's not something I ever bother with when I buy DVD's - I'm really keep to watch the 9 hours of extra's.

do you mean all 5 seasons box set? that came out in Target today.

I already have the first 4 1/2 seasons, so I just bought season 5 today. it comes with the 9 hours - I was planning on hoping in bed and watching some, but hubby crashed out there!! tomorrow ill start watching it in the gym!!

your right, you can just keep watching it, I rate it the best show ive ever seen, no down seasons, always something to watch, and hang out for, and yet it didn't go too long or end too soon. as you said a while back they really nailed it.

cheers
