More Dale Thomas News....

Post by Proud Pies »

I know there's lots on here that will love to hear this, so I'm happy to share it with you all. Don't know how true it is though.

From Twitter:

@lukecaronaSCE Apparantly Dale Thomas injured his ankle again at Carlton training but they're keeping it on the hush. Haha. Wankers.

Bad for Dale, but hilarious to see the scum have wasted so much of their cap on him if true.

The hatred of Dale Thomas (my former favourite player) is astounding. Collingwood really has some seriously sicko supporters if they wish the worst for a former favourite son and premiership player. But then I'm not you am I Proud Pie? :P

Hatred is he decided to leave Collingwood.. No one leaves Collingwood then expects the same love or respect

Thomas is a FN weasel and deserves all the pain he gets.

If Thomas has re-injured his ankle then Carlton will look like the laughing stock considering all the signs were there in the first place that his ankle wasn't 'right'. I don't wish anything bad to happen to Dale but I hope he fails miserably at Carlton and I no longer respect him now. I can't forget his brilliant efforts of 2010 and 2011 but in my book going to Carlton after playing for Collingwood is unforgivable.

I thought Daisy still played at Collingwood except we gave him a makeover by making him 5 cms taller, 8 years younger, reconstructing his ankles to full health and changing his name to MATTHEW SCHARENBERG!!!!!!!

That's a brilliant reply E.
Dale Thomas played some great games for us and he helped us win the 2010 premiership. That's something we should never forget.
We should also not forget that in the end his loyalty was to Malthouse and not to our club. As a professional footballer he was entitled to make that choice but as Collingwood supporters we are entitled to take that into account when assessing him.
I do not wish Dale Thomas success.
The simple fact is that he chose to become a Carlton footballer and I do not wish any Carlton footballer success.

Dale Thomas was a superstar and yes he was a big part of the 2010 premiership.

We always showed faith in him and used pick 2 to guarantee his services, paid him handsomely and supported him for his entire Collingwood career.

We gave him the opportunity to discuss terms in early 2013 but he decided to hold out for more money, probably a wise financial move for him but greed and injury has led to his departure from our club.

He was a favourite of mine but has now left the club to join MM at Carlton.

I'm glad for him in securing a 4 year deal but sincerely hope he never plays finals again.

He doesn't support Collingwood, I do, therefore why would I care if his football career ends tomorrow. Here's hoping the rumours are true.

I don't hate Daisy but I hate anyone wearing that jumper, so when he runs out (if he runs out) I will mercilessly boo him every time. That's my job as a pie supporter and its the scum supporters role to now cheer him (if he plays at all)[/u]

Yep, well said (except the bit about his ankle). I don't want to see others being injured or unable to play.

I don't wish him ill will but do wish the club he plays for has many more poor years.

Amazing. Obviously some of you don't follow American sports or European soccer. Players come and go. Players are traded. There's even talk LeBron James will leave Miami Heat if they win their third NBA championship in a row. Get used to it people it's what real professional sports all over the world do.

You have to remember that most players in the AFL end up playing for a club they never barracked for as a kid. It's a paycheck. That's why people move from one company to the next in the business world. Only a fool stays at a company for less money out of sheer loyalty. That's the free market at work. And it can be win-win, because the clever clubs can use free agency to lever champions from other clubs to their own.

Anything else is restraint of trade imo. And in Europe it would land you in court. Literally. There they have no salary caps, no drafts and complete free agency.
