20 Klm 76 min, stuck with my 18 year old very fit daughter for the first 6klm or so, the I hit the wind and the wall!

Using the gears properly really helps! Cheers and thanks for all the advice xx

Don't push yourself too hard TP.

I'm with you though. I'm pretty f*cked against a strong wind. Lots of low gear, little pedals. Goin' to be riding to work against the northerly. Just want it to remain a northerly till I get back home!

I've been too slack riding my bike (due to renovations mostly). But now with these ridiculous gas & petrol prices my riding is gunna come back big time & I really do miss it.

Hahaha! I can't help it! I just have to compete with myself!

Yesterday was rest day, and I had a full day of work, so I got up early, and did a lazy 7 Klm in 15 min on the stationary bike, and 25 min, 3.5 Klm on the elliptical! You know just for a warm up, and an excuse to start watching The Walking Dead form the start again. Bought series 1&2 on eBay, cos I've finished re watching breaking bad and SOA!

I am really trashed now though, it was already pretty warm, was going to go earlier, but went out at 7am with hubby to test drive a boat he just finished fixing up to sell. Bloody scared the crap out of me! 18" ski boat, bloody big mercury outboard, I'm driving and whacking over waves, screaming shit shit shit shit, and he says" just enjoy it" I'm like "I'm fricken terrified, what's to enjoy?"

Boat is now on eBay! I'll stick to the fishing boat thanks!

So how far do you ride? I'd be stuffed after working all day. And a northerly in the evening, hot wind, yuk! Your a better man than me!

When I was powering over a hill into the wind, down near Altona beach, a guy came past the other way, looked at me like huh, come on girl move it. Half hour later we traded places, I said " bit easier going this way isn't it?" He was beet red, looked like death!

Cheers off to rebel with junior, they got cycling clothes 1/2 price!

It was a hard one yesterday especially that I'm getting back on the bike again. The ride to work was a killer with that northerly. Riding home the wind seemed a bit all over the shop but not a tail wind though! :x

Much better ride to work this (late) morning. Pleasant.

Looking straight at you

Headphones on :x

That one is a shocker. People are oblivious. I ride through Swanston Street & people just don't look.

I avoid bike paths. They are dangerous for the reasons you've shown. .

I know; some people are just so disengaged they should sign up as organ donors as it won't be long.

I was not belting along either maybe about 12 kmh. I had enough time to prepare for impact. Looking back I could have maybe avoided contact but I didn't.

I have enough difficulty in avoiding bumping into dickheads when I'm just walking in busy places, let alone trying to dodge fuctards on a bike. I'm sure some people either have zero spatial awareness or they're just sp self absorbed they don't care about others.

Sometimes when I have a random coming at me going left and right I just stop and stand still rather than try to dodge them, then watch the look on their face when they suddenly find their nose 3 inches from my chest. :P
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

some people are just arrogant and inconsiderate. one time i was riding up on of the paths in the mcg carpark and three people were on the path looking straight at me and did not move a muscle; i yelled "move" at them and they gave me this indignant look.

i am convinced many people lack spatial awareness.

no its like when you have a full shopping trolley, they just want you to go around them, arrogance and laziness. why I stopped taking my dogs for a walk, the whole "my dogs bigger than yours get out the way thing"

people walking don't think cyclists should be on the path. I don't care, im not riding on the road, its a shared path where I go, and I share!!

Come and live in SE Asia where motorbikes use the footpaths, often ridden by unlicensed school kids. Cyclists are cannon fodder.

It's not just here, happens everywhere. Bali the paths are narrow, two people side by side is the max yet they do it. We walk in Indian file yet many don't. When they come the other way I just stop look at them and don't move, they have to stop walking side by side and go Indian file. Ignorance is a global issue. lol
