^ I don't know enough but yeah you would think so???
Agree Tannin - Malaysian Airlines have always seemed pretty good - we have flown with them a lot given our enjoyment of Sabah and Sarawak - mind you I did accidentally carry a knife in my carry on through 4 countries and numerous flights without detection
It just doesn't make any sort of reasonable sense to me ?

I am flying Bangkok (Thai airways), Kl (MAS) Singapore (SIA) Melbourne next week. I will be very careful about what gets in my luggage as there is bound to be a backlash on security. It is well known here in Thailand that if you want to sell your passport it can be done and then front up to the consulate with a Police report to get a new one. Backpackers do it all the time. I think this little scam will be met with some serious scrutiny in the future.
Annoying opposition supporters since 1967.

The Conversation, as it so often does, provides a calm, measured summary by a genuine expert with relevant qualifications instead of a quick, ungrammatical write-up by a newsie who will be covering the Pope's speech next week and an earthquake in Russia the week after that: https://theconversation.com/what-could- ... h370-24161

Basically, no one will know bugger all until the black box is found or the plane turns up at an airport in Tehran.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

People wonder why we view some other countries with contempt and would prefer they never immigrate here in any major numbers. This kind of culture is why there is such a gap between 1st and 3rd world countries.ronrat wrote: It is well known here in Thailand that if you want to sell your passport it can be done and then front up to the consulate with a Police report to get a new one. There's no way I would want any of those law breaking backpacker types ever migrating here. Fancy selling your national passport and then lying to the police and consular officials, what a lack of respect to your homeland and international law!!
I bet they are mostly dodgy Europeans, Kiwis and Yanks.

If I was a backpacker in Thailand and needed the money I'd probably do it, gawd knows I doubt I could do it here ir NZ or the US or in the richer European Countries.

I can't imagine ever backpacking either so I assume if I was a backpacker I might sink to such depths.think positive wrote:why would you sell your passport, that's fricken crazy! your handing them identity theft on a platter
