I'm not going overboard after one game, however;
Giants youngsters many of whom are very high draft picks are maturing fast. Adding experience in Shaw, Mumford, Lamb, Addison & Hunt all helps stabilize some positions and adds protection that the youngsters never had before.
Picks one and two from the 2013 draft; Boyd & Kelly to come.
But most importantly perhaps they have a sensible modern coach.
Gone are the joke days of Kevin Sheedy & Israel Folau.
Yes they are a manufactured AFL implant into an area that doesn't give a toss. But they are now a good football team. Soon they will be a very good one.

Pies thumped by a near Flag favourite and Swans steamrolled by a team of upstarts.
Bunch of upstarts? Surely you jest Donny, rather it's a bunch of the best talent in the land for past three years plus top shelf inclusions from most other clubs.
Everyone is cheering them today, soon they will be sick to death of their domination.
Yes, I tipped the giants. On paper they are better and it showed. Swans will struggle this year, certainly not top four material. I have em finishing 7th.
