Collingwood 4 eternity wrote:Mark Stevens tonight on Channel seven doing a story on a surprise Collingwood selection this week

Marley back in ?
Said elsewhere that I wouldn't rule him out if his ankle was okay. Had limited game time on Saturday but had a real impact while he was playing with dynamic running and hard hitting defensive pressure. He's done all the training since withdrawing from the practice match so it's only match fitness that he's lacking, could be the ideal sub Friday.
Would Marley be much of a surprise?

I'd be more surprised if it was Fasolo, Yagmoor, Martin, Armstrong or Mooney. Even more if it was Reid, has he been training?
I know it won't be but I so hope its Armstrong, just to experience the inevitable meltdown here and to see DTM in tears..... :P

Wash your mouth out JW!! How dare you suggest that?

You know that Collingwood pick Nick's scapegoats at their eternal risk..... Is it really worth it?
They will have to deal with the ire of DTM leading the Nick's Armstrong bashing pack......

I think it's time to lay off DTM on this one. Armstrong has looked nowhere near it. However one views it, he could only be selected in the seniors if he suddenly shows remarkable improvement or if there is no viable alternative.

Only seen the 1 VFL game and the preseason games so can't comment. Not too much to enthuse over from those outings though. Would have him behind several others for a senior game.

Think Armstrong was credited with BOG against the schoolboys from the AIS, otherwise nothing to write home about.

With options like Fas being developed, it would take a bit for Armstrong to get a game now that Williams, Sinclair, Scharenberg, Broomhead even are becoming available. Reckon Marty Clarke gets a game before him too given Bucks likes him.

I've seen all his NAB Cup and VFL games this year, except the one against the AIS children that, by at least some reports, he dominated. At the games I've seen, my view is that his form has been at or below that which you saw last Saturday.

Well in fairness to the guy I was probably being a bit harsh saying he was horrible (was I?) but he certainly didn't impress much and not enough for selection.

Karnezis is building but still underdone I think. Many of his goals have been joe the goose.
Kyle Martin however was kicking them from all over the place on the weekend. Set shots from a fair way out, in general play - be hard to keep him out given we are struggling for accuracy at the moment.
