Gold Coast Suns

Post by Proud Pies »

Was great to see them beat the Paupers today and now they sit in 5th position behind us on %.

Which made me think of a prediction that I made when they came into the comp in 2011..... I said that within 5 years (seasons) they would be playing in a Grand Final..... well, that'll be next year!!!!!!!!

I have a soft spot for the Suns due to family involvement with the players and club and they know that unless we are playing them, then I will barrack for them...... not sure I will if they go above us on the ladder though.

But I have also noticed that Ablett gets an awful lot of free kicks awarded to him

And then once they win a couple of flags they will then become what the Brions are today - a JOKE!

I'd be happy for my prediction to be proved wrong :)

won't happen

GWS v Suns grand final won't happen. Just like the St Kilda v Footscray grand final didn't happen in 1997. just like Fremantle hasn't won a flag yet. These teams will be thereabouts in the future, even a preliminary final, but the big one, forget it.

Anything's possible - Paul McCartney could write a decent song, Baz Luhrmann could make a good movie, Australians could vote in a fourteen year old public schoolboy as prime minister...

oh hang on?!?

Its one thing to make the top 8, or top 4, its another thing to play in a Grand Final.
