At least Wingard had the courage to be honest with GWS rather than stuffing them around for two years knowing full well he would always leave anyway for another club. I don't see it as arrogant or a form of draft tampering at all.
I can't exactly blame him for not wanting to play for an untried club either. He'll be happy with his current situation as he's a Sturt boy and the Power have risen dramatically in the past 18 months with him playing a predominant role in there rise up the ladder.
If Wingard played Collingwood, I'd be ecstatic but that won't happen so may as well forget about the idea of it ever happening.
