I don't think there's any reason for major changes, or even minor ones.

We need to be playing better, yes. But I really doubt there is any individual changes that will make the difference. Both in this game and the last we've had across the field systemic issues. Not individual players struggling. We were starting to get it right, just need to get back to it.

It's amazing that our midfield was able to lift and our ball movement improve when we really needed it in the last quarter and a half. If it didn't we were gone, with no tall defenders back.

If only the side could play with that passion when their backs are not against the wall and for the whole game. no team could beat them. hopefully they just needed to remember and recapture the desire after the bye.

We lifted in the last qtr to basically steal it from the jaws of defeat. Not sure how we won that game, goal kicking accuracy no doubt helped. 17.7...never happens.

That was a classic ugly, frustrating, should've-got-done home-crowd win. Good teams and teams who want to go somewhere bag those sorts of games more often than not. That's a great sign for Bucks and the club, I reckon.

Kudos to the backline and to the individuals who lifted at different moments like Blairy to drag us over the line.

Loved Elliott spending a lot of time in a more free-ranging role; despite early turnovers, he was critical even before going forward again. The lad is something special, and can take the physical punishment over the ball.

Great four-quarter games from Maxy, Tooves and H, with a strong last from the quality mids.

Edit: Add Goldy to that last group. Great four-quarter wild man game.

I wouldn't say I had written us off, never said game over or we wouldn't win.

Still if you're happy only just beating a side who's only wins have come against the dogs, dees, saints and giants then you're easily pleased.

Me I'm about playing premiership football and these last two weeks have been so far from it it's unbelievable.

We would have been smashed by a genuine contender today.

Smashed.

This is why I want Fasolo forward, or Karnezis to come in. Elliott's more than a forward pocket, he can seriously impact the game up the ground. Needs to be rotating through the middle, and needs someone to cover for him forward when he does.

This is not the first time he's stood up for us in a last quarter when it's really counted. A quality player.

Where did we really hurt in this game?

Forward? No. 60-37 inside 50s at one stage, yet we kicked a winning score.

Defense? No. Depleted but still managed to keep them under 100 and to nullify Kennedy,

Midfield? Yes. We were smashed in the clearances and this is where the rot started. Once we lost a clearance we struggled to move the ball out of defense. The question is why? Are Swan, Beams, Pendles not up to it? Clearly they are. The main reason is our rucks. They were destroyed today. It's to be expected of young players. But even when they aren't destroyed, they don't have the nous to control the takeaways. It's the one reason why we could never be considered real contenders this year.

The other thing of course that needs to be addressed is the ball movement from half back. We made progress but have slipped back.
Well done boys!

I have a feeling Karnezis will be in soon. Don't really know for who, but he scores regularly, looks dangerous, and may just give us some pizazz in the forward line.
