What's the line this week? 48.5 points? I shudder to think what they can do to us yet again. Yesterday just sucked the life out of my confidence. I've been trying not to think about this game for weeks.... just knowing it was looming.
Museman I like your ins but if Beams has done a calf forget him. Faz, Goldy definite ins I suspect. Would be really nice if Maxy could someone pull a miracle and be back for this game. Our backline looked lost yesterday.

I am genuinely scared about the boys this week. Another 6 day break and opponent off an 8 day break (again).
We couldn't keep up with the Bulldogs and they did butcher the ball on occasions. If we give the hawks that amount space they will well and truly smack us.
Anyone got a miracle voucher for Bucks to cash in?

Caff out? Got beaten well and truly last night but has been extremely consistent the entire year in beating his opponent. No chance of getting dropped! Maybe send him to Burgoyne at half back.Museman wrote:Ball and caff blair out.
Beams faz goldie in.
Tell em it's bring your own lube day.
ohh yeah and contracts are now effort based you lazy pack of pricks.
Agree on Blair. Can't see why Kennedy can't perform the same role and get on the scoreboard a bit more with the advantage of having that midfield pinch hit when required. Is also small enough to get the same free kicks Blair tends to attract OUT Blair IN Kennedy.
Goldy a definite in.
Praying for Maxy to come up!

Loathe these bastards, we really need to come out firing, utterly determined, and have a red hot go, as the humiliated dogs did against us, they copped a week from hell, as will we. BUT, I really want to win this one to see the look of disappointment on their new "Coach", little dwarf happy harry bolten, reminds me of a frigging hyperactive ten year old, let loose in a lollie shop. Never played AFL either, just want to win to see him cry on tele. !

^^^ Caff has been taken to the cleaners twice in recent weeks by players with serious leg-speed (Dangerfield killed him, too). This is a short-coming. His other weakness is that when he's beaten for speed like that he doesn't seem to be able to punish the opposition much going the other way. He's a good, solid player but - as some others have said - I don't really like having such a negative player as one of our starting 3 running midfielders: it means we depend too much on Pendlebury and Swan (and Swanny isn't playing well enough this year for us to be depending on him in that way).
All of that said, Hawthorn's starting mid-field probably won't trouble him for leg-speed too often, so he might be a good match-up for them.

Yes they are wounded but I was thinking today that we aren't to far behind when you think about it.MagpieBat wrote:This will get ugly.
Even a wounded Hawthorn will smash us...
Brown/Lake
Reid/Gibson
Sidebottom/Mitchell
Maxwell/Stratton
McEvoy
McEvoy, Lake and Stratton an outside chance to be back this week and who knows if Beams and Goldsack will be right to go.

that is not aided by starting one down at stoppages which is effectively what happens when you elect to tag.

Not too sure about this prediction. Realistically, I just don't think we are playing well enough to beat the Hawks. At our very best we are a chance but not with our currently injuries and ordinary form.Woods wrote:Not too worried about the Hawthorn game. Collingwood can win this, and win well too.
True. I always worry about these games irrespective of where the teams are on the ladder.Woods wrote:More worried about the Carlton game the week after as its effectively Carlton's Grand Final.
