We can win it but only if we rectify 3 things.

1. We can't have any passengers again - such as Blair, White, Ball and Young.

2. We can't play 3 rucks, given that neither are dominating. One of Witts or Grundy must be rested. White has to play more in the ruck.

3. We have to find out what's up with the player once known as Dane Swan and get him firing again. he's either injured, is simply slowing down, or doesn't care much, or all 3. bottom line is we need him close to his best if we are to be a top 4 side.

4. Break the legs of about four Hawthorn players before the game and the hands of three others....

It's out of left field I know, but I wonder if Bucks might consider resting both Grundy and Witts this week and playing Hudson as our ruckman, with support from White? I don't expect it, but the more i think about it the more it makes sense. Our young rucks are looking weary and it would be good to see if Hudson can still cut the mustard should he be called upon in September. A bigger ruck load for White is what he needs.

We will literally have no talls in the VFL if we take Hudson out of there. Johnno Marsh is playing key defense for crying out loud. Just pick one of Grundy or Witts (preferably Witts). He's done 3-4 preseasons so he should be able to run out a season by now.

A game on Saturday at 2:10 pm. Really? Is this our first one this year?

No, we'll have Witts and Grundy.

Hudson plays an aggressive brand of footy, has the experience and neither Witts or Grundy are providing a lot at present as ruckman and nothing as forwards.

For me if we're ever going to use Hudson then this is exactly the type of game I'd prefer we play him in.

Our top 4 aspirations are on the line so let's try something different.

^^It's exactly the sort of game we could be playing our backup veteran ruck. I'm just concerned that Hudson may be a bit too veteran. I'm still of the opinion we should have picked someone up for this eventuality if Hudson wasn't going to be up to it. Our ruck stocks were one thing keeping us from even the possibility of a Premiership.
Well done boys!

^Draft who though?

Mature ruckman who aren't complete spuds aren't so easy to find.

The scum picked up Wood but I don't think he's played any matches and if he has didn't impress enough to keep his spot.

Out: Witts/Grundy, Adams, Blair, Dwyer

In: Hudson, Beams, BenKen, Fas

I have a good feeling for this game as strange as it sounds, especially if they bring in underdone Stratton and Lake.

If the scum give Wood any matches, he'd probably be on fire.

I'm responding to Rudeboy's comments that Buck's should rest Witts and Grundy, not drop them to the 2nds. Personally, I loved the games Huddo played for us last year. He really stood up and showed he still has it at AFL level, and is still dominating in the VFL. However if we plan on getting a flag in the next couple of years, this is the exact game we are going to need Grundy or Witts to learn to stand up in and they aren't going to get that experience playing in the magoos while old mate Farham gets another go around in the ruck. After yesterday's loss many people are happy to write off this year as ultimately a development year. If that's the case, then Huddo should only ever be used as purely a back-up for when our two young guys can't make it on the park.
