Excellent crowd considering:
1. it was a wet, windy, 9 degrees for much of the day
2. It was a 7pm Sunday night in the depths of winter
I hope this serves to prove that even Collingwood fanatics aren't interested in being constantly used, abused and screwed by the AFL.
Many of us made a conscious decision to stay away tonight. Let's hope that the AFL takes back control of the fixture. Channel 7 may offer big bucks, but the fans voted overwhelmingly with their feet tonight.

After the epic draw comes the decisive knockout!
Collingwood rules the world again and Mick Malthouse fulfils his destiny with the twenty ten premiership and can you hear the people sing!

I think Kennedy showed tonight why so many of us were keen to get him into the side.
What is a worry though is that he wasn't even in the initial squad and if it weren't for the Williams and Langdon injuries would he have even played.
It was bleeding obvious to most that he should have been named in the 22 on Thursday after his last month of football in the VFL.
Blair should be on borrowed time now but probably isn't.
Thomas to be replaced by Broomhead or Martin next week after a couple of average performances.

He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD!

Re: Swan
30 Possessions may look like a good day out, but it looked like an extremely ordinary night for Swan from the Ponsford stand. I will reserve judgement until I watch the replay but initial impression of his game was not goodKosh wrote:Piesnchess wrote:I cant understand, how the "perceptive fellow" can slam swannie, yet he had thirty possies. ?? I have not seen the game, but thirty possies is good in my book.
Swan had 30 but over half where soft ball receives out the back in 1 2 plays. He didn't do a heap with it. I watched it live then watched here replay on Fox.
Sidey was great and the break seems to have done him th world of good his best game of the season.
Kennedy looked right at home. I'm a big fan of picking guys when there in form and it showed.
Witts shows glimpses today of why he is rated so highly very gutsy effort
Frost keeps on getting better
Pendles is just Pendles week in week out
Seedy showed good signs today
Dwyer was very good and has gone under sold on here tonight
We're missing so many important players Maxy Reid Brown Fasalo Williams Langdon
Even the one sided commentary tonight said "Collingwood have been crueler with injuries this year and are still a top 8 side. How good will these kids be in 2yrs"
I'm with Donny another great effort from inexperienced side

Agree with all that. Glad you posted, I got home and was like, shit how different did it look on telly!qldmagpie67 wrote:Kosh wrote:30 Possessions may look like a good day out, but it looked like an extremely ordinary night for Swan from the Ponsford stand. I also noticed swan sitting at FF for a fair period. Rested or not 100%?
I also picked Dwyer as best on ground, he was quiet later, but his first half was just fantastic. And he never never never quits. Also good to see young really coming through.
First 1/4 didn't see much of frost, it was all Keenfe, but I guess frosty was keeping his player dead, and that's the job. Of a defender. By gees he was good in the last 30 or so, coming right down the ground, and spoiling everything.
A couple of times the baby defenders needed to punch, instead of try and mark (the one in the square) but it will come.
Thought tooves was a bit ordinary. And sidey at first, but his last was a cracker. Same as beams. Blair just does the grunt stuff, happy for people to use him as their whipping boy, cos the kids got the broadest shoulders, biggest guts in the team. And gees a great night for Luke to show he still has a bit in the tank, boy he was so important last night.
A thrashing would have been great, but don't let the tv kid you about the conditions. No matter how good the grass looked. I was undercover, well back protected from the wind, and in fair dinkum snow gear, lots of layers. We walked out the ground and the icy air hit us, OMG, did my jacket up, and only had my nose and eyes visible, thank god hubby finally woke up (19 missed calls!) and came and picked us up! Would have been hell on the train!
I'm glad we went, really enjoyed the first three quarters, can't wait for the sun in QLD on Thursday though! Me and junior heading up! Warm me old bones! Bring it on! go Pies!
You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either!

Don't get too excited, I watched the game in layers and fully rugged up last night. Bring a warm set. Mind you it's just the cool nights.......day times still spectacular as ever.think positive wrote:

the team seems focused on hand balling out of
congested situations and though it is well suited
to the modern game of the rolling maul it is a ugly
spectacle.
unfortunately i have to agree with my father in law
[x AA] while watching with him that our once great game
has become parallel with swannies form and that is a fraction
to what it can be. a boring game in a boring time slot even for
tv maybe transpired to a game like that but highly unlikely.
yeah its great to beat whom ever we play especially those dogs
but we really need to sort out our injury situation, why are we coping
so many soft tissue strains? and we need to get our best team on the park. were fast running out of time this season and we have to start
showing better form soon to even consider playing in finals.

watched some of it on TV. Laughed my butt off watching the 'old goat'.
pathetic crowd and totally understandable. Failed experiment. They must have known we do not want Sunday night football.
Many issues for us. When we don't man up, we get creamed, even against crap opposition.
Good for Bucks to go 4 zip against the old fool. But as a club we need to win 5 more in a row to even up the overall ledger against the scum.
Funny year of football really for us. Injuries still hurting us and hard for Bucks to gain any sort of momentum with the merry go round of players.
I fear we will lose against the suns. But you never know.
Oh and the umpires. Like i said, only watched some of the game, but every time I did I just shook my head

Great to beat the Bloozers and add to their 2014 misery
With Marley and Langdon out joining Maxy, Brown, Reid and Brown our young backs did a great job!
Sidey was a huge in and Caff certainly kept Murphy quiet. We should get more from Swan,, Beams, Thomas and Pendles next week, however it was good to see Dwyer, Adams, Young and Lumumba find some form and support the mids.

A good win considering our outs. Losing Elliot allowed Sheep dog Yarran some easy kicks , he looked better than he was. Very happy with Young his class is impressive. We have really missed Sidey. Seedsman was good but went for the KB glory goal a bit too often. We were inaccurate when we didn't lower our eyes. Taylor Adams was great last night. I personally made sure reindeer in the headlights Marc Murphy missed his shot on goal it worked a treat. That bald umpire is an idiot!
