Agree. Agree. Agree. I also think H is a shadow of his former self. When he changed his name he left the old Harry O behind, physically and mentally. Worst thing he ever did.Wokko wrote:There is a common criticism of Collingwood fans that we over value our own players and undervalue opposition players. This thread confirms it.
Heretier is a headcase who can't defend 1 on 1, shits himself under the high ball and, despite some decent stats is a shadow of Harry O.
N. Brown is a great defender in the Presti mould but not much else. Also struggles to stay on the park.
Sam Reid is a potential A Grader swing man just like his brother. There is NO way this happens. 0. Nada. Zilch. Forget it.

yep, ive always thought our Ben is the better player to sam. Trouble is, ours bloody struggles to stay fit and on the park, theirs does !FrankieGoesToCollingwood wrote:Agree. Great talent but goes missing far to oftenWoods Of Ypres wrote:I differ from you guys I reckon Sam Reid is all hype.
Since he signed that big contract couple years ago he has done bugger all (injuries haven't helped).
Look at his stats this year, pretty underwhelming for a bloke his size.

I wouldn't trade for Sam Reid if all we had to give Sydney was a Round 5 draft pick. Sam and Ben Reid are both highly talented footballers. They are both incredibly injury prone and the older they get the more frequently they are injured. Some people just have injury prone bodies (e.g Lee Walker and Sean Rusling - both would have been great players for the Magpies if they could have ever managed four games in a row without injury) The Reid brothers have obviously have had better careers than those two but we have seen very little of Ben in the last two years. We can afford to carry Ben Reid through injury because he is so good when he does get on the field but there isn't room on our list for two players like that.

Why don't you just keep your opinion to yourself because we all know your not a Magpie fan, and we're pleased you're not. BTW there are many players that would only dream of emulating the achievements of Bucks you muppet.rocketronnie wrote:Unlikely. Why would any established player with a future want to come and play under Buckley?

^ I did say "close to"
(I'll pay Casboult as an equal, but you're joking with Black.......)
When looking at numbers only, and whether he currently is a "star", yeah it's easy to say he's overrated. Hard to argue with in fact.
But, when watching the guy play - the way he moves, his one-grab marking, the timing of when he meets the ball with his one-grab hands - it's also easy to see what the guy could be if given the chance.
(EDIT: spelling)

Delusional fans is true.
I'd take That deal in a heart beat. A bloke with a busted up body and one with his head all over the shop for a young giant who can play at either end for the next 10 years. It's a no brainer.
Sydney ain't that dumb though. And I doubt they'd trade with us given the acrimony between us and them.
They've given it to us up the ass on the trade table over the last 10 years. Pebbles was our last good deal with them.
