WE hear talk around the traps of a "lack of leadership onfield by the Woods players" yet, IMHO Beams could well be the Leader we need, after Pendles, whom I think is a great leader anyway. !

Beam's not going anywhere..Yet

Warren quashed speculation surrounding another of Connors' clients, Collingwood midfielder Dayne Beams, saying the Lions had not approached the Queenslander.

"Not at this point. Dayne's contracted as well," Warren said.

"When he's out of contract (at the end of 2015), he's one you'd like to have a chat to. Don't worry, we'll ask Collingwood the question, but at this stage he's contracted."

We should definitely be extending his contract along with Langdons ASAP

Should have this put in any other threads dealing with the Beams rumour, and them all locked so the hysterics can end.

You can put a 'yet' after anyone's name. It means nought.

Beams = of Pendles! Extend him Perty!

Post by inxs88 »

With his better depth of kick, superior goal kicking strength and ability on his non-preferred means that Dayne Beams is the equal of our fantastic captain Scott Pendlebury. No sleight on Scott but more an endorsement of what Dayne means to us over the next 5 years.

All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.

Actually that little dialogue does nothing to clarify the word yet for me Phanto!

Bloody great movie btw, even greater book by Nick Hornby. the Americans normally stuff up great English novels when they make them into movies.

No, he is not as good as Pendles. Beams is a gun player, a star of the comp.

However, Beams lacks defensive abilities and is quite loose defensively. SO he isn't anywhere near as complete player as Pendles.

BTW, Pendles would be top 5 in the League. Beams top 50.

I'd consider a trade of Beams if the price was on our terms. For example to gain Cameron or Paton or Boyd from GWS, I'd consider a Beams trade being included.

Agree with melliot, otherwise no deal but we do hold the upper hand for now.
