The latest rumblings I'm hearing is the swans will agree to the COLA being gone immediately if the AFL agree put 75% of Buddy's wage down as a AFL ambassador role like Ablett at the suns and funded by the AFL.
Heard this on ABC today from a call in not sure of the truth to it all but would make perfect sense for them to do so as there is not a hope in hell they could squeeze all the players legally under the salary cap.
Paddy Ryder shall go to Swans!

I think all teams should get COLA...its purpose is to assist new players on minimum payments to cover the high cost of living.
The problem is not COLA, it is how it is managed.
The AFL should control like a slush fund, each club has to formally apply for funds with full evidence of how much and how it will be used.

All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.

all contracts had a cola component and, afaik, need to be approved by the afl.bwphantom wrote:I think all teams should get COLA...its purpose is to assist new players on minimum payments to cover the high cost of living.

Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle.
