Beams wants to go home for family reasons. Guess we can't blame Bucks for that.
So do we trade him this year whilst he is contracted or wait till next year when he is a free agent?
Next year we will probably get a pick after our fist round ( assuming they haven't scrapped the compensation pick).
This year do we try to get Brisbanes pick 4 plus a player?

Are you sure that he will be a free agent? Do not think he is old enough to be a free agent!thebaldfacts wrote:Beams wants to go home for family reasons. Guess we can't blame Bucks for that.

You are right. End of 2016 according to the AFL site. Guess that gives us more bargaining power then.KenH wrote:Are you sure that he will be a free agent? In before a 1000 essay ranting about Buckley.
Anyone know what the 'family reasons' are? Because word from the club up until now had been there was NO way that he was leaving. That's changed pretty quick, so I'd be interested to know why he wants out.
I think we need to move him on ASAP if he wants to go because if we're contending from 2016 on (and losing an A grade mid doesn't help THAT at all) then it's better to bring in a high draft pick kid now and get a year or two into him.
Unless there's someone comparable at Brisbane or the GCS who wants to come home to VIC, if that's the case then jump on that right now and forget Draft Picks.

I am gutted...... Feel worse than when Thomas first said he wanted to go, and i loved him.
Beams for pick 4 and Sam Mayes. (Number 8 draft pick in 2012 from South Australia.
On trade pick 4 and Sam Mayes and third round pick to Adelaide for Dangerfield.
Effectively 2 top 10 picks and pick 48.
Offer him $6m over 6 years.

Good deal for Brisbane. Garbage for us. We give Beams for Aish & upgrade 4 places in the draft.burnsy17 wrote:Pick 4 and Aish for Beams and pick 8....??
But does that then mean we cannot pick up Moore with our first live pick which would be a pick in the 20's or whatever???
But you are right we can't trade pick 8 unless no club below us bids on Moore.

Being a qjueenslander i have been watching Aish very closely. One word...outstanding. Trust me Brisbane would not want to give him up. If not the other player i would contemplate is Bewick. So pick 4 Aish or Bewick for Beams...pull either of those off and we are in front.
All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.
