No i mean talk.Harvey wrote:He can't walk (I assume that's what you mean). Pick 4 only (even including a crappy fringe player) is what you would accept if Beam's was out of contract and has the threat of the PSD. If that's all we're going to get this year, we'll keep Beams for an extra year, allowing us to be competitive next year and our other mids to mature and do the whole dance again next year.CarringbushCigar wrote:Brisbane hold all the cards.Defender wrote: We won't take pick 4 only, I'm thinking we'll want their second rounder 'or' a decent player as well, forget about pick 4 and one of their young guns, won't happen.
We are likely to get bent over here, because Collingwood don't want Beams to talk.
The PR would be disastrous for Brisbane after the go home 5 and then not being able to do a deal for a star like Beams that actually wants to go to them.
How would Brisbane come out this morning and say pick 4 is fair.
And imply Beams will stand out of football for a year if a deal is not done.
That's a fair bluff.
Collingwood should have come out day 1 and said they are prepared to give Dayne 2015 off, and are urgently arranging a deal for 2016 beyond.
Even offer him to Brisbane for 2015 but sign him for 2016 beyond.
Why hasn't anything like this happened?
Surely thats all win/win if its 99% to play with Clay and spend time with his father.
