The AFL has officially gone mad.....
Pick 3 for Frawley???
WTF???
.
Compo based on contract salary, same formula for every player. It's not the AFL that has gone mad it's the club Frawley may go to paying him way over his worth.
Thanks for clearing that up for me.
The club he goes to must be bloody crazy to pay overs like that..........
All I can add right now is that I have a real appreciation for the Paul Roos school of trading.
The H deal is pretty well sorted before trade week even begins. The Darren Jolly deal was accomplished with a minimum of fuss. No ambit claims. No BS. Just cut to the chase.
Handleys brother coming over from Ireland pretty much rules him out I reckon. There is also a fair chance the Bears will have pick 5, not pick 4 which means a ready made player is even more essential.

You do realise Roos threatened to take his bat and ball home regarding the Jolly trade, it wasn't as easy as you think, even though the sticking point was the steak knives, pick 14 was always on the table AFAIK.

He sure did. But by the Wednesday night of trade week, he had happily traded his premiership ruckman for picks 14 and 40 something. Jolly was always worth more than 14 and the fact that it only took a third rounder to seal the deal means it was clearly us being intransigent. And for good reason... we probably wanted to hold as many bargaining chips for Ball as possible.
I reckon we'll end up getting two picks unless one of the Lions players comes forward and wants out.
Brisbane will definitely be trading Merrett and probably trading Patfull. I expect they'll have picks to offload to us and we'll look to trade some of those for a player from another club. It could get complicated.

Yeah! Roos is a top bloke, he gave us a 2nd round pick for Nick Davis
Aish is the player I'd like to see coming our way along with pick 4, but no one seems to want to come to Collingwood at the moment, first time that's ever happened in my lifetime.
My real hope is that a deal won't be done and Beamer stays, if that happens I have no doubt whatever that he'll give 100% in 2015, and if we're real lucky the crisis with his father - and whatever the other reasons are he wants to leave - will have been resolved, hopefully with an improvement in his father's health.

If we don't get Aish you can definitely blame the club. I'm almost certain it was Buckley who drafted the rule that new draftees can't be traded in their first two years. And I've not been able to prove it, but I have suspicions that Eddie was the one who put him up to it.

......
One player due to limelight issues I suspect & lifestyle issues has chosen sleepy hollow.
Now a sober analysis would say you're being - how should one describe it: a wee bit histrionic & melodramatic.
Get a sense of proportion rather than catastrophize.

From what I've heard the AFL do have some discretion if they believe the compensation is significantly overs.
Personally I think the pick should come after the bottom ten sides have had there selection.
