I was thinking the other day how Collingwood must go hard for Dangerfield and not only because we'll be losing Beams.
Right now rightly or wrongly we're seen as being on the nose and a club high profile players no longer want to go to.
I find this extraordinary given the size of our club, the facilities we offer just a drop punt away from the G and the results of the past decade being regular finalists.
We need to land a big fish not only to revive our on field hopes for 2015, our whole club needs a massive confidence and profile boost.
Ed needs to get involved as much as possible and sweeten the pot for Dangerfield using his channel 9 ties.
For me getting Dangerfield would be our biggest and most important signing since we landed Malthouse at the end of 99.

So, we give them pick 4, an elevated rookie and a former pick 75 for one of the top 3 players in the competition? I don't see why they would do this.
I understand they may be nervous about free agency next year but surely someone will offer a better deal than that. Melbourne was said to be proposing to offer picks 2 and 3 (if they get it), although I understand that Dangerfield has got to want to reach the trade destination.

Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle.

If Nathan Brown had come to the Pies when he was told, then he wouldn't have ended up the cripple that he did, after not even two seasons at Richmond, with his career ruined. Yeah, he's a bona-fide genius, this bloke...John Wren wrote:according to nathan brown, this is how he would engineer things.Brisbane receive: Dayne Beams
Collingwood receive: Patrick Dangerfield and Pick 24
Adelaide receive: Pick 4, Lachlan Keefe and Josh Thomas.
