Its down to Rich or Redden

Post by Dream Still Alive »

Derek Hine has said considering the age profile of the list we dont want a young up and coming player for Beams.

So its pick 5 and either Redden or rich and maybe a swap of picks.

Personmally I would like Rich purely due to his kicking skills.

Aparantly Brisbane are talking to this particular player tomorrow.

Would rather Rich over Redden, even coming off a knee.

That said, if we could stitch up Greenwood I'd rather draft picks over either of them.

Where did you hear that?

I'd be happy with either.

Redden - 189 cm , 23
Rich - 183 cm (and very short arms), 24

I'd prefer Redden, seems a bit more consistent in performance even before the knee injury to Rich.
Obviously both would be straight into our 22 as inside mids and are in the right age bracket.
Happy with either.

Rich is a plodder. How fast is Redden?

Not quick, in fact he covers the ground a lot like Beams does. Has a good motor though.

Why do people think there is any truth to this?

If we can get Greenwood out of North I'd settle for 2 picks in the top 15 for Beams

We have Broomhead & Freeman for pace, the thought of Rich kicking long into the fifty excites me.

Especially when we get Cameron in 2016 8)

Freeman has pace but I'm not convinced that he's a great kick. Need an inside jet with pace - someone who can get it and burst away from the pack

Redden for mine. Securing a middle age talent is important. We have already passed on Aish once.

To be honest, from the time we started dealing with Brisbane I'd hoped we would have a crack at Redden. Very good beams replacement & wins his own footy. Hope those reports are true.
