Rumoured - Mark Whiley (GWS Giants)

Post by The Prototype »

187cm midfielder from GWS Giants we're reportedly interested in him, the Blues were dealing for him but one Facebook site suggested the deals stalled as the Pies have entered the race.

Anyone have much on him, etc. Haven't heard much about him, I have put rumoured in the title I have no idea if we're interested really or if this is crap, so don't shoot the messenger here, I am just putting it out there to discuss it.

NSW zone selection Whiley is a hard-headed tagging midfielder who averaged 30 touches in the NEAFL this year.

In his 12 AFL games, the 190cm midfielder has done a reasonable job tagging the likes of Gary Ablett, Scott Pendlebury, Nathan Fyfe, Daniel Rich and Dyson Heppell.

The Blues discussed a contract with his management on Monday and believe he can blossom like unheralded GWS midfielder Miles at Richmond this year.

Collingwood and Brisbane also showed early interest in Whiley, but after returning from overseas on the weekend he gave his blessing to the trade.
Will end up at the Scum by the looks of it. So they get two players for the price of downgrading pick 7 to pick 19.

Wouldn't mind it if we could ruin that for them actually.

Probably tells you the draft is so even from picks 5 to 15 that trading back to 19 isn't as great a loss than it would be in a lot of years and when you can add two young players to the mix in the process you've probably come out in front.

I wonder what type of deals pick 5 would get us with the GCS or GWS?

Now that we've signed Crisp I don't think we'd still be interested.
Well done boys!

Apparently Carlton are close to a deal now, supposedly agreed to overnight with Jaksch.

With a bit of luck he'll run the whole Carlton side off a cliff.

He's a big bodied defensive mid.
Played a few tagging roles.
Crisp I think is a harder defensive runner.

D Shiel is who we should chase. Pick 5 done deal !
