I don't think Varcoe will be that bad personally, might be a little soft but as long as he doesn't butcher the ball I could almost deal with that.
Really I don't think there are any players at elite AFL level who are truely "soft". Broomhead for example isn't overly robust but I've seen enough to be comfortable that when it's his turn he'll go, and he'll hunt the footy in congestion, and he'll take the hit. Varcoe is at the very extreme though and I don't have the same level of confidence in him.

Tom Petroro, his manager, is reported as saying this earlier today:

"12:11pm- Petroro also told AFL Trade Radio that Geelong midfielder Travis Varcoe was very close to joining Collingwood. Petroro said he was just waiting for Varcoe, who is currently on holiday in Bali, to get his head around the move and make a final decision."

someone who played 23 games in a team that performed better than us. as always, the fullness of time will be the final arbiter. time to get around someone who wants to play for us.

Lets roll out the red carpet, order the trumpet players and round up the village criminals.

FFS Varcoe, Greenwood and Crispys is the best we can attract?

Something is seriously wrong.
2nd to 4th to 8th to 11th to ????

When does the nightmare finish?

I am happy about Greenwood, but I just can not get my head around Varcoe. If we are rebuilding and we are, go with the draft pick. At least it gives the supporters something to be excited about. As has been said before there is no upside to Varcoe.

Now that the Trengove deal is off the table for the D's i would be backing out of this deal at a rate of knots. We want the 23 for H or do a direct swap with the Roos and keep our 25..
This will be the saving grace for the Beams trade.
Can you please explain why the failure of the Trengove trade affects our trading of H. This is a serious request by the way.

get over it, if a player joins our club you support them until they play so poorly you can no longer do so. your opinions (and mine) mean nothing to the recruiting staff, so suck it up and move forward.
