Do We Tank???
Given that we will struggle next year, l believe that we will finish 11-16.
Do we try to finish as low as we can so that we have a higher pick in the 2015 Draft, which would then allow us to offer that pick to GWS next year for Cameron/ Shiel.
l do not want to come last, but 2nd last would be good so that we can relaunch in 2016.
One year of pain for many years of gain.
Just a thought, which may not need too much planning as the team looks very weak next years.

Are you friggin joking? That is absolute rubbish. We'll challenge for top 8. This shows you have no idea whatsoever. Yeah lets be the first team to start tanking from Rd 1.mavs5 wrote:Given that we will struggle next year, l believe that we will finish 11-16.

I disagree with your assumption we will struggle next year.mavs5 wrote:Given that we will struggle next year, l believe that we will finish 11-16.

Assuming we have a fit Cloke, Reid, Brown and Swanny next year, along with improvements from Broomhead, Adams, Kennedy, Grundy, Witts, Langdon, Karnezis, Freeman, Elliott, Frost, Keeffe and Seedsman, I reckon we will finish 4-6 on the ladder.

Absolutely not. If we start tanking, we won't be able to attract any top players from other clubs that want to come for more than just money. It could also see more players demanding trades.
We need to challenge for finals next year and I think if we have a good injury run we can. If we want to attract some quality A-graders next year, we'll need salary cap space (which we should have) and a high likelihood of challenging for a flag.

Anyone half fit to be in charge of a multi million dollar organisation would see our list as it is today, and realise we are 0.1% chance to win the flag next year.
Then have a look at the list how it might end up under the current trade path.
Will these proposed inputs have a high chance of significantly contributing to our top-4 tilt in 2016.
Greenwood on 450K pa for 4 years (50/50)
Varcoe on 375K for 3 years ???? (30/70)
Krispy on 250K for 3 years ??? (20/80)
Pick 5 (50/50)
This will cost us a fair slice of our salary cap.
Use the 1million saved to load up our biggest contracts front end - should be at a slight discount too.
Pretty much tank 2015, get the bodies right, identify the gaps and attack 2016 free agency for mid to late 20s Key Possy players, and a few classy mids 20-23yo.
This gives us a sniff in 2016.
At the moment we are hopelessly sliding down the ladder with no brakes.
What to do with Beams?
Its tough, but can't trade with them this week. It's spineless.

Deliberate or not, if we finish in the bottom 5 or even bottom 8, I don't think Bucks and Ed could survive past 2015. If we go backwards yet again, the majority of the members and fans will be calling for their heads. I have every reason to believe we will either finish about the same place or higher.
