Yes.
Can we trump Essendon for Giles?
Who else is around?

I'm loath to add another ruckman particularly if you're only recruiting for depth. I recall how poor the VFL side was with Wood, Ceglar, McNamara and Gault all rotating through the F50 with Paine and Boland types. I know the success or otherwise of the VFL shouldn't influence the drafting for the seniors but with Cox, Gault and Moore on top of Witts, Grundy and White I think we've got sufficient coverage. Keeffe offers another option if we get to crisis circumstances.
And who knows what pick 5 will bring. I'm hoping we can add another midfielder but I think Hine will add best available and that very well may be another KPP/ruck type.

No.
Asked and answered already.
It wouldn't be fair to Giles to pick him up and then not play him. If we play him then we aren't properly developing our two excellent young ruck prospects.
We possibly shouldn't have delisted both of Ceglar and Wood. But they will know why they did that and I doubt it was so they could pick up another midaged ruckman

The only older Ruck we want is as a VFL hack ruck coach in the Hudson mould who could fill in for a game or 2 at most if injuries hit hard.
Orren Stephenson comes to mind, I don't really know what he's like as a ruck technician but he's about the only retired/delisted ruckman this year.
Anyone know what David Hille is up to?

Why we couldn't offer 48 for Giles is beyond me. He was playing very good footy a couple years ago. I think having a back up for our ruck stocks is sound list management, especially when the main two rucks are young and may not last out the year ( burnout).
Some posters suggest we have coverage but I think we are one good ruckman short, we have too many bits and parts ruckmen or just plain raw and inexperienced.
