I like the look of laverde. Maybe too similar to sharenberg and Langdon, but maybe it's not bad to have a few of these types in your team. You wouldn't say no to having two Goddards and a fyfe in the same side.
Have a feeling that hine might want one of brayshaw or McCartin tho, the way he's talking about swapping picks around. I think he wants a top 3 to hopefully snare the Big Mac and sure up our tall forwards for the next 10 years.

I agree with this. It seems the consensus is that Wright is number 4 and, while he is highly regarded, we already have Peter Moore II. that means you have to get to three and then see whether Melbourne values a mid over a tall and take whatever is left. Why would Melbourne agree to this? The only thing i could think of that would get Melbourne to do this is if they think McCartin is going 1 in which case, they might not want both Petracca and Brayshaw! But how can they know that now.cityslick1 wrote:I like the look of laverde. Maybe too similar to sharenberg and Langdon, but maybe it's not bad to have a few of these types in your team. If McCartin or wright fell through to five I'd think we would take them.cityslick1 wrote:I like the look of laverde. Maybe too similar to sharenberg and Langdon, but maybe it's not bad to have a few of these types in your team. You wouldn't say no to having two Goddards and a fyfe in the same side.

At this stage Petrecca, Brayshaw, Wright, McCartin would be the top 4 picks.
So for us it's of Leverde, ahern, Goddard, Durdin or maybe a Picket / Weller.
I don't want Weller, he's another qlder who wants to play with his bro.
Ahern is a lot like Kennedy who needs the game time.
Durdin and Goddard have had injuries and need development.
I like Leverde. - looks a "Bontemtelli " type. Has a lot of things we need in marking ability, height run and carry with a bit of x-factor.

Could be right.magpieazza wrote:Just a prediction ....I think Leverde will be gone before us and we will be left with Wright/ others to ponder on.
I want Brayshaw or Leverde.
As much as we all like great midfielders, guys with Wrights potential don't come round too often. He is ruck height with elite speed as a tall and endurance with a great pair of hands. He identifies as a forward more than ruck in the Tippett type height covering the ground at CHF like a Reiwold type

McCartin must be effing brilliant then !! lol.
Oh well Hiney will probably go with best available, so it will be Laverde, I'm estimating. Will be happy with Laverde.
I spelt it wrong before, it is Laverde. Meaning "the green" in Italian.
Go you green thing!!!!

I don't think Goddard or Durdin are in the mix for us at pick 5. I think they're both well behind Moore and can't see either being taken in the top 10 now that Adelaide traded back to 14.MJ23 wrote:If McCartin or wright fell through to five I'd think we would take them.cityslick1 wrote:I like the look of laverde. If the top 4 go as you've suggested, then I think we're picking from Leverde, Ahern, Pickett, Duggan, De Gooey and Weller. They all look like pretty good prospects, so happy to let Hine work his magic.
You're comparing Ahern to our Benny Kennedy I assume? Not Josh or Josh? I suppose that's fair becuase Ahern will take a bit of time, but I see more Stephen Hill in his game. Ahern looks more a footballer, but no less an athlete.
I agree with your next post regarding Wright as well. I think he's still some chance to go at pick 1 because learning under Nick Reiwoldt would turn him into a serious player IMO. Not sure anyone has ever seen an 18 year old who's over 200cm with a better set shot kicking action. He's a forward, not a ruckman.

With GWS losing Boyd I'd imagine Wright is a lock-in for them.Pies4shaw wrote:If that's an accurate appraisal of Wright, shared by sensible recruiting staff, he couldn't possibly last to pick 5, could he?
I'm hoping Brayshaw slides to 5 but I don't think that'll happen.

Weller's brother plays for the Saints (currently) just signed a 2 yr contract I think.MJ23 wrote:If McCartin or wright fell through to five I'd think we would take them.cityslick1 wrote:I like the look of laverde.
