If we managed to get Rainbow, maybe at long last Joffa will get his wish as the Magpie Army stands arm in arm at the 'G' and sings 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'. I'd like to see (and hear) that.roar wrote:Not sure about our first pick but assuming Cockatoo is gone, I want Maynard or Rainbow at 30.
So we've got pick 5 and 30. Who do you want?

Assuming GWS take Pickett at 4 then I think it's down to Laverde and Langford for us.RudeBoy wrote:According to Emma Qualyle in today's paper, Wright seems to be 'sliding' out of favour and may not even end up a top 10 selection. She linked us to selecting one of Pickett, Laverde, De Doey, Ahern or Langford. Seems the journos have no idea either.
I'm leaning towards Laverde but the stats for Langford (and De Goey) are remarkably similar to Laverde.
Langford being 8 months or so younger than both would have to be in his favour when Hine is trying to predict what the players will become 3 years down the track.

Kafka is a bright boy but unfortunately a pretty "heavy" dude. Fancy saying this & he hasn't been drafted yet:
"I do not read advertisements. I would spend all of my time wanting things".

I've been changing my mind constantly, but now i'm leaning towards Langford. Having looked his stats, I noticed he averages more marks, tackles and goals than Laverde....and as swoop commented, he's about 8 months younger. It may just be that Hine rates him as having more potential improvement. Either way, we're sure to get a great player.swoop42 wrote:Assuming GWS take Pickett at 4 then I think it's down to Laverde and Langford for us.RudeBoy wrote:According to Emma Qualyle in today's paper, Wright seems to be 'sliding' out of favour and may not even end up a top 10 selection. When asked about his chances to be drafted he replied
"God gives the nuts, but he does not crack them."
Sounds like Harry 2.0

I'd prefer "Rainbow Connection"RudeBoy wrote:If we managed to get Rainbow, maybe at long last Joffa will get his wish as the Magpie Army stands arm in arm at the 'G' and sings 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'. Another one I'd be really interested in if he lasted till 30.
Love his competitive nature and aggressive streak.
It's something we could use.

5.Laverde/Wright
9.Moore
30/48. From *Blakely/*Lamb/*Menadue/Rainbow/Maynard/Cavka/D.Mckenzie/Gore/R.Mckenzie/Boekhorst/McLean/Langdon
Impossible to know who will and wont be still available at picks 30 and 48 to narrow it down to just the two players.
*Most likely to be gone by pick 30.

Can't imagine we'll take Miller ahead of a Maynard, Rainbow and Cavka.
Those first two have some decent size coupled with a powerful kick while Cavka can run all day.
Another midget inside midfielder isn't exactly high on our list of needs at pick 30 I wouldn't have thought.
I'd be disappointed.
