We still make a lot of mistakes but it was a good win.

You'd have to be happy about Grundy, Langdon, Frost and Crisp too roar. That's a great spread of exciting young talent.

Glad we put that festering, putrid mob to the sword for once, suck it aints- we destroyed you. Pretty atrocious skills on display by both teams, glad varcoe showed something with his second efforts and pressure. Trav needs a frontal lobe transplant!

Grundy outstanding in the ruck tonight. Teamed up pretty well with Swanny, reminded me of how cohesive Jolls and Swanny were a few seasons back. A lot of teams are going to be kicking themselves they didn't snap him up in a couple of years.

Langdon's competitiveness never ceases to amaze me. An absolute rock tonight. Going to be a cornerstone of our team.

Crisp doing some nice things tonight. The knock on his kicking I keep hearing about should finally be put to rest. Not sure he'll ever be an A grader of the likes of Beams, but fits well in our team and hope he stays.

Varcoe somewhat silencing the doubt I had about us picking him up. Bloke never stopped trying tonight, some great pressure acts and follow ups in every contest he was in. Hope he can build on this form.

I could go on about every player...

Very pleased with the spread of goal kickers tonight.

There was greater inclination for one handball then a long kick inside forward 50 to three tall and mobile targets.

If I were a St Kilda fan, I would be rubbing my hands together in anticipation of a flag within five seasons ( Southern Football League, Division 3)...

They are truly shite.
Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away...

Best game ever for Tim Broomhead

Post by inxs88 »

Well done to Broomhead who took advantage of more mid field time and played his best game for the club. He was tough, slick and creative especially in the first 3 quarters. Well done!

Alan "turnover" Toovey

Post by inxs88 »

Heard on the radio tonight that he broke a 12 year club record for out of bounds, turnovers and missed targets tonite (11) all up. Alan, sharpen up please as your defensive pressure is elite but as a senior player we need your "example"!!

I'd put him just into the more positive than negative column, but yeah he's always been a bit of a butcher but he ramped butchering up to elite levels tonight

Great to see us Smash a Side and Kick a Big Score.

Thoughts:

Great to see Grundy Dominate Longer. 30 Hitouts and 20 Touches was fantastic an go along with 3 Tackles and 7 Clearnces

Crisp was really good and his height and speed is a Will Help to our Midfield

Varcoe had his best game. Got more Involved in the Hard Stuff

Brown had a great game and even gave some ReBound in 1st Qtr

Toovey was Good Defensively but Kicking was Terrible

Broomhead is all Class and just wait when he can play 4 Qtrs

Great to see Swanny back to his best

Pendles was sold

As I said in the post-game thread, he had 16 centre square involvements, when last week he only had the one.

He also picked up 22 disposals as well.

This kid is destined to become a star in our midfield.
