Well tonight didn't go to plan hey
Don't blame the game plan you can't win games when you are at best an average side by foot. Our disposal under pressure is consistently bad. Our effort and pressure masks the fact most weeks.
10 out of bounds, countless goals missed that are must kick at AFL level, so many kicking to 2 on 1 against without looking.
Most of this can be fixed over time.
We were never going to win the flag this year anyone who thought we would is living in dreamland or hiss's house.
Our group is young
Our group are learning on the run
Losing Cloke early didn't help
No Adams no Elliott doesn't help
Sidey played probably his best game of the year just wish he would kicked that goal in the 3rd term from 20 might have lifted our confidence but he wasn't alone missing easy goals.
Varcoe has been our best mature recruit in years he is so much a better player now than ever at the cats
DeGoey has courage and vision his skills are just a little off at the present
Crisp tries his butt of every week
Greenwood will be better in a couple weeks
Grundy & Witts competed but gee they have soft hands over head
Langdon Frost just keep improving
Marley showed tonight he has everything you want in a player gee he was good
Brown was solid again he hasn't been beaten over a whole game this season
For mine the guy under the pump is Tooves. I've been a fan for ages but his past month have been error riddled and well below the acceptable standard for an expernced AFL player. Give him a couple weeks in the seconds. Give Scharenberg a couple games now. Let him show us what he has got at the next level. His kicking will be a marked improvement that's for sure and I'm sure his enthusiasm will be high
Cloke will next week so who comes in is the question. At this stage you would think Moore has the inside running but wait until after the seconds play to see if some screams pick me.
Well 0-4 could have been 3-1 but it isn't so we move on.
We are capable of winning 5 more games this season so let's see were we end up by seasons end before we judge this team to harshly.

Play him in the midfield as much as possible.
Langdon and Frost and Marley are the only ones drafted
to improve of late.
De Goey's going all right, and will get better

He is not a Pussy like Watts is and Moore is a Good Set-Shot on Goal

if you cannot defend you have little place in today's afl.
But you also have to Kick Goals as well

From Bucks's presser:

- we are a little bit off the best teams right now (is anyone really surprised by that?)
- we have played better footy (at times) in the last 4 rounds than in the first 11 rounds when we were 8-3
- we have a lot of improvement in us still (and it is up to us to show that)

He consistently seems focussed on qualitative evaluation (not so focussed on W-L even when we were 8-3) and genuinely seems to believe we have it in us to beat the best teams very soon.

We probably need to win 5 - might get away with 4 - of the next 7 games to play finals. We are probably the only team Hawthorn fear right now.

Side by side we stick together. It's us against them.

So you think Bucks has just seen this as a Development Year and the Win and Losses is not the Most Important Thing?

Is White better playing the chop out ruckman roll and anything he offers up forward is a bonus, like Leigh Brown.
Hes not to bad in the centre and it gets him in the game. He's certainly better up forward than Witts or Grundy.
Means dropping 1 of the ruckman. Maybe drop Grundy and see if you can turn him into a key forward.

Maybe it should read;
Next time we are going to take the game on.
Run and carry and move the ball quickly!
We will attack and not try and defend everytime.
Maybe Bucks should join the Liberal Party.
Afterall, a game plan that is conservative should
have Tony Abbott very happy.
we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest.

Bucks presser was as tense as i have seen him. He was clearly pretty unhappy about something. He ended it by saying "well that was uncomfortable". He also clearly took out a shot across the bows of Seedsman -"trying to prove he has it at this level". Ouch.

Last time was 2005. We lost rounds 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. We then lost 8 in a row that same year, rounds 15 to 22

Not at all Dave. By very soon I meant this season. Ws and Ls are what determines the ladder, but they are not the most important thing in assessing performance.

pretty hard to take much from that performance when shit kicking and turnovers ruin us like that. yes there were a handful of standout performances from the usual suspects but f-me how hard is it to hit a target by hand or foot and not kick the friggen thing OOTF!! Is that too much too ask. We work so hard in trying to move the ball forward that give it up so cheaply and when we do we're exposed cos the opposition catch us on the counter. scoreboard flattered us if anything. wouldn't be surprised if we saw a few more changes. Elliott wouldn't have made any difference cos he hasn't for the last 4 weeks. The forward line was a mess. Witts lays a monster of a tackle then kicks a point. That's what you call a momentum killer. Where's our run and carry and why do we insist on playing this ring around the boundary shit only to cough it up.

^ under Buckley we haven't tended to play ring around the boundary til tonight. I think Buckley got caught up in the hype about the WCE "web" and decided to try and bypass it. That failed because we don't have the footskills or experience to do it, and because Etihad is a very narrow ground, relative to its length, quite unlike what we're used to. So they kept trying to slice slivers off the boundary line and couldn't do it.
