Collingwood's forwards saved that game in the last quarter - 7 goals straight from only 8 inside 50s, while the Blooz kicked 6.3 from 16. In short, Collingwood won the quarter, even though it had half as much attacking ball,

That forward efficiency was completely absent last week, so bringing Reid and Blair in obviously improved the structures.

Grundy did well in the ruck. Marsh showed a bit and Reid was great. Well done to Fas. Swanny and Pendles were sublime. The rest of the team were tentative and sloppy all day. Playing without confidence. But we finally won! Beat Carlton, so the year is not wasted.

Yikes, what a horrible match to watch. It was good to see Reid play and get through the game well, that was about the only positive from the game.

The team still looks very low on confidence though. So many terrible mistakes that kept Carlton in the game, none worse than Sidebottom's miss from right in front.I think a goal there would have killed the game off,but it gave Carlton hope, and sagged our team's confidence even further. It was a definlte momentum shifter.

Well JW, my good man, fortunately that possible scenario was successfully avoided today. It will remain subject to conjecture however, pending the teams performances between now and the end of August, I'd expect....

Happy to get the win but wins over Carlton and Essendon don't mean as much these days. Hawthorn needs to be the team we set our sights on. Go Pies!

I think we can confidently say that Hawthorn will not beat us for the remainder of this season.

4 points is 4 points and for the doom sayers just a heads up wins don't come with a * for the skills.
There were encouraging signs and some of the same ole rubbish at times.
For mine I want to focus on the positives.
Marsh congrats mate good first game hard at it all day and showed he can run and deliver.
Reid welcome back son congrats on the 100 games now we need 100 more like that in a row.
Pendles & Swanny the 43rd time they have both had 30+ in the same game 19 more time than th next best. Time has slowed Swannies legs but not his mind or match awareness. Skipper just pops up exactly where and when needed.
Blair everyone's favourite scape goat but again today loads of important chases hassles scrags tackles and decent marks. He offers his all every week he just isn't a Pendles and is marked harsh mostly by everyone.
Langdon boy I love his vision wish his disposal was as equal) but he reads play very well and always gets himself into valuable position.
Williams man oh man if only your body kept up with your mind you would be elite. Does enough good things every week to give you the hope he will soon go to the next level.
Grundy showed today he can go it alone. Was in every contest and gave us loads of chances around the ground.
Scharenberg only given a quarter and some but again showed his vision. That 60m drop punt deep to Moore in a one out was great vision. While Moore didn't mark it it gave us every chance and Moore's harassment then led to a goal.
Faz damn boy you could be anything. Another very strong game need you to show this every week.
Sinkers showed why he will be valuable in the future his run and delivery out of defence was great.
Our tackling again today was superior.
We made the most of nearly every opportunity going forward (I won't mention sideys miss from 15m out directly in front a to not offend the Sidey faithful lol) but overall we played okay.
Cloke Reid Moore Elliott Fasalo are the starting point of a very good forward line.
Any time we beat the scum is a good day
Happy faces on folks and onto next week

Hawthorn will however, get another nibble at Carlton in round 23.
If the sport has any integrity left, they will declare at 3/4-time.

Come on Dyso old son. I know you're a true died in the wool old school Collingwood man, so I'd like you to enjoy our victories and get on board the Bucks train. He's going to be our coach for another decade at least and will deliver us numerous Premierships. One in all in, side by side. 8)

Bit sloppy and untidy, but thank god we won, we got there. Reid and Fas big postitives, but we are still a way off playing with that intensity we showed against the piss and poop and dockers. Still, we won, stopped the rot, get cloke back soon, and we can put in some big games now. Oh yes, the umps were utter shit yet again, gifted the scum a few goals, i dont know how much longer we have to put up with shocking umpiring, but it seems to never end. Anyway, a win is a win, we take it, and move on.
