Yeah and they have been our bunnies for years also. Big deal I would rather loose to a good team which they are. The game against the blues was more worrying than today. The way they played today showed they have no confidence at all with each other. A new year brings new expectations like always and another preseason to have hope, there isn't any right now and rightly so, but posters on here calling for the coach to be sacked is just so far of the mark. That is why I wrote what I wrote. Some of us have seen it all before, we are passionate and footy is often our life blood but throwing the baby out with the bathwater is not the way to show your support. Stick up for them, that is what they need. Just like you do by going every week win, loose or draw, that is what makes you a real supporter, not people who just stick the knife in. I doubt the club would be the champion club we are if they listened to every naysayer. Look at Essendon, to much say by supporter groups. richmond were the same until a change in culture. Lastly Our club isn't just about footy, they are also about our community and the award we won this week is more important than a bad game. Side by Side guys. http://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/news/20 ... brw-awardsJezza wrote:Don't be all high and mighty! So bloody typical of football supporters. Sort term memory loss and to bloody spoilt if you ask me. We have a great club and we are having a challenging time. So what always looking for quick fixes. No wonder opposition supporters hate our guts. We are so fortunate to support a team like the pies. I am 51 and although we have lost more GF than anyone else we basically make finals more often than not, not sure other supporters from teams like the saints can say the same thing. Stop being so bloody stupid all you doomsdayers
Yes we have a good set of kids coming through the ranks and our expectations of them are understandably not high at this stage of their careers but most supporters have an expectation of the coaching staff that they will create an effective and functioning game plan that will allow us the best possible chance to win every game we participate in.
I go every week regardless of how good or bad we are but Collingwood members and supporters are rightfully not going to sit here and tolerant a lack of effort from the playing group. There's a different between losing and knowing full well you're not good enough against a superior opposition and giving up in the final quarter like we did today and giving Richmond a 15 goal win.
Knowing myself I'll probably attend next week but I don't blame those who don't show up! The club has made a lot of statements about their expectations and so far we've failed to live up to those expectations. For what it's worth I had finishing between 9th to 12th but not in these circumstances and it's going to be another off-season of pessimism for many I suspect.

The only people who deserve to be publicly shamed are the umpires who officiated the game today. But if it makes you happy by slandering the greatest player who played for our club and is busting his guts to make us a better team, then go for it.WarrenerraW wrote:A big collective boo and f*** you to he Collingwood football club today for your pathetic inept and heartless performance. Can't remember the last time we were this bad. In fact we seem to be getting worse by the week. Same culprits same mistakes and same useless game plan. Come on bucks spin us something. Young developing team my arse. More like useless and clueless. Hang your heads in shame pies.

I think we have gone backwards. Grit and determination and forward half pressure can only take you so far. Most of our players lack basic skill and a lot don't make the right decision. Unless this improves dramatically we won't improve as a team. Most can't kick straight forward set shots yet hacks like Vickery kick clutch goals from 50.
I was so disappointed today we walked out at 3 qtr time because the kids decided it would be more fun kicking the footy outside the ground for the last 30 mins. I knew it was getting bad as we kept hearing the tiger roar constantly from outside. Appears even Goldy had enough, saw him walking outside about halfway through the last qtr.

So Johnno is it the coach, the recruiting or just immature players or a combination?Johnno75 wrote:I think we have gone backwards. we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest.

This in 2011 was, in the scheme of things, a bit of a downer:

Really, folks, get a grip. Collingwood is playing for nothing and Richmond is playing for a top four spot for the first time in 137 years.
Anyway, I think you might find that Derek, rather than Bucks, is in charge of the submarine, at the moment - the standing instruction is, of course, "Dive, dive, dive!"

Of course the umpiring didn't cost us the game and Richmond deserved to win but the umpiring throughout the match was a disgrace of the highest order. Some notable examples include the following:BucksIsFutureCoach wrote:The only people who deserve to be publicly shamed are the umpires who officiated the game today. 1). Ben Reid is pushed in the back in the forward 50 and isn't paid a free kick.
2). Richmond receives three 50m penalties in the third quarter for incidents that were hardly worthy of 50m penalties and I could see happening the other way.
3). In the third quarter Levi Greenwood is infringed in a marking contest as his opponent didn't have eyes on the ball and five minutes later the same thing happens to Vickery where he is infringed and a free kick is paid to him in front of goal.
4). Various holding the ball decisions were not paid either throughout the game but I suppose that happens every week.

Excellent post and spot on. There were many such days in the Matthews and Malthouse days, in games when there was more to play for. Weather is not climate.Pies4shaw wrote: Not much of a memory, either.
