And they break their hoodoo........AGAINST US!!!

Post by Joel »

Don't know what to say. Today was the first time all season I felt the team is playing very suspect. Not much effort by the whole team today, we were lucky to be that close for most of the game. THIS MUST NOT HAPPEN AGAIN THIS SEASON if we are to make the finals...guys, you are not in the finals yet, you must not let your position slip. WE expect better (ten fold) next week.

Yeah i agree Joel
I remember somebody saying we play teams that are fighting for their survival this year.
I live in Brisbane and now I have to put up with the bandwagonner crap and Lynch on TV claiming they are good enough to make the Grand Final.
There were so many opportunities for us to bury them, but those crappy bounces of the ball killed us.
Oh well, I'm in mourning for a few days now and avoiding any Brisbane bears losers as well.
GO you pies!

You know it's going to be a bad day when the ball constantly bounces this way, that way and every other way, except our way! Also, have you noticed that just about every team we have played this year have been at full strength or had a point to prove just when we are drawn to play them. We seem to be drawn to play teams at the wrong time, but having said that, if we are to become a good team, we need to be able to beat teams at full strength (regardless of who is playing or what the circumstances are). I too live in QLD (Toowoomba) and hate the way the media get interested in AFL only when the Lions are doing well, otherwise, you get virtually nothing. That's why I enjoy this website and the AFL website. You feel a little bit closer to the action and can escape from the patronising QLD media.

You can't say that Brisbane are a bad team. In fact, the main reason I didn't tip Brisbane was the fact that we were playing at the G. They have now won 6 in a row, albeit at the GABBA. The only doubt about them is their performances interstate. Other than that, they're pretty good.

If Malthouse says that he reckons Brisbane are the second best team going around, you can't really argue the opposite, can you?

Watch out for Collingwood's next contribution to AFL equalisation - on Saturday night in 2 weeks' time.

Joel, you are being a bit harsh.
Brisbane were BLOODY good.

Collingwood will probably win the next 3. Unless hawthorn farkin fire up - they'd better stay crap for 1 more week.

Fair call Yrt4, it was only a matter of time before they sorted themselves out and got their act together in Melbourne, they're a quality side and proved that on Sunday. Don't worry about Richmond, Hawthorn and those type of teams since they are nothing more than pretenders, whereas the Lions are the contenders.

They are a quality side, for a side with their talent they have really under-achieved (hopes its nothing to do with their coach!!!). Its a pity we met them when they are starting to reach their potential. We are a young team, our future is bright, but realistically we are not there yet, the young players are getting tired. Next year we will be a top 4 side, and after that we will be true contenders. It is disappointing to lose the last 2 weeks, but the guys have been fantastic this year, and come what may, I am proud of them.
