I love Varcoe. He's the only player who really takes the game on,and one of the very few who can pick the damn ball up without fumbling. We need more like him.
Tackling good, good pace, nice skills. A welcome addition.
Varcoe, Crisp, De Goey, Moore, Maynard have all been wins for mine.
Jury still out on Greenwood for me. Some good signs though - job on Selwood last week for instance. Has been a good year for Hine and co from that respect.
One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership

Yeah, be a bit of a log jam behind Pendles and Swanny. You'd imagine Varcoe, Sidey, Adams, Crisp, Langdon, Williams all in the running for that 3rd spot.
Admit I wasn't a fan of the deal. Suggested we'd be better chasing Higgins via FA and getting a pick for H. Still would have liked Higgins but have to admit Varcoe has made me look a bit silly.
I was glad the day we got Varcoe and I am glad still that we got him. So many that i know that were against us getting him, and bitched and moaned about it well I hope they have had a good change of mind now.
I was definitely against recruiting him, thinking him one way and injury prone. But on top of showing skill, poise and pace, some of his defensive efforts have been truly inspiring. To top it all off, he's flattened a fair few of the oppo.
Another one who admits I was totally wrong about him. Even yesterday you could see he was doing everything he could to get his teammates over the line against Essendon. Not his fault we lost. He must be wondering what he got himself into when he joined Collingwood. Buckley should be using Varcoe as an example to his teammates at training as to what players should be aspiring to out on the field. It's not about sheer talent alone. It's about the one percentages, helping your teammates out and playing for the full 100 minutes of the game.

I was initially apathetic about him tbh, a bit of meh....
But he has been fantastic and I love the man now.
Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!
