Mark of the Year poll

Post by magpie24 »

Just noticed that there is a poll on the mark of the Year in the AFL site.
Make sure you go there and vote, cos Moorcrofts mark is a mile in front.

Done also.

I don't fancy our chances, because the marks themselves won't be fairly assessed, it's just going to be a poll of two factions: pro and anti Collingwood... and they're bigger than us.

grr, i wish there was some way to rig it and vote more than once, hehe, they're hard to pick between because I hate essendon so much and the pies are my team, i can't tell if im being bias or if Tarrants mark really was the better, moorecroft got up pretty high and was in an awkward position, but tarrants was pure skill.

I think Tarrant's mark had a much higher degree of difficulty and he got higher - (and I'm looking at it objectively!). The only interesting part of Moorcroft's mark was his lean backwards - big deal!

Oh, and can we vote more than once on the AFL poll? I've been in a few times and the number has increased each time - but I don't know if that means my votes are being recorded or it's just other people's votes I'm seeing???

GO PIES!

yep, there's no way tarrant can win this poll. it's the supporters of 15 teams versus one.

which is a shame because I think tarrant's mark is better than mongcroft's because of the difficulty factor; mongcroft had one player to contend with while tarrant had about 5. but I would prefer finals rather than mark of the year (or a brownlow) any day.

Correctly called Mike, its a popularity contest. Perhaps someone from Freo will take the ultimate speccy and show the 'reliability' of the contest. There are lies, damned lies, statistics and then web polls!

I guess some guy should hack into the site and rig it.. lol

And miss magpie, i think the site uses cookies (dont know whether you know what they are.. and no, you dont eat them). they store it on your computer so you cant vote again. but you can actually delete them if you want from your C:\Windows\Cookies folder. But this is still not enough, because they know the vote is coming from the same person, so you have to disconnect and connect for every vote... LoL

I personally enjoyed both marks. Although I am a loyal Collingwood supporter (and have been for over 20 years), I appreciate a good grab from any player (regardless of club). Having said that, I have cast my vote for Tarrant.
Currently: Tarrant - 29%; Moorcroft - 53%
