I think it's more likely that we're waiting to see how much we can pay him once we've more of an idea who else will be on our list.
He'd be an attractive steak knife for any club.

His body is bound to let him do what he wants sooner or later.

I hope we keep him for this reason.

^^It's from our side that the mistake would be made not the other. His value will never be lower than it is now, you would think, so not a good time to trade him.
Well done boys!

Not worth that at present I would have thought.

We'd be offering more in the $250,000 to $300,000 you'd think.
300k is a lot to pay on Potential. In saying that we have most likely spent that on medical bills with only the best surgeons and medical staff. Ungrateful if he wants out.

400k is not that much and will be 100k short of the projected average wage under the new broadcast deal. I wouldn't risk losing him for 100 - 150K a year, especially when there are other players who I would move on to cover the difference - Ben Kennedy for one.

Good to see Shaz named in the VFL side. Does that mean he's staying or going?

Yeah but it all adds up in the end.

Cave into player manager demands and soon you are paying 10 players $100,000 more each than you'd like and there goes 1 million from the cap.

Either that he's staying or we're not sure.

Would we risk him if we knew he was gone?

Some players are worth caving in to, swoop, and I reckon Berg might be one of those.

I wonder what Rudi thinks. :D

Too bad, so sad. Cry us a river. They also passed over one Josh J. Kennedy, selected by Carlton, who was on-traded to WCE years later.

Yet the Whorkes did well for their "down" years; literally conned Freo out of their first pick in 2001, to trade them Croad for the pick that secured Hodge.
Then had him refunded two years later.

And scored the motherload in 2004 with Roughead, Franklin and Lewis.
Passing over Ryan Griffen in the process.

Don't really agree with that, Culprit. As I recall, he did that knee playing footy in a Black and White jumper, not while gardening. he doesn;t owe us for that.

If he's staying he's part of the club and would want to play finals with his teammates. The only reason to pull him out is if he has ongoing fitness issues or if he's leaving and we wanted to play it safe.
