Tony Shaw (as a commentator) is an idiot

I'm sorry to all collingwood supporters to say this but it must be said. I respect tony shaw as a player he would have died for the black and whites, and he led us to 1990 glory, but as a commentator he is an idiot. During the game on sunday, he was so critical of collingwood, endlessly praising the lions. I thought the game was pretty even throughout, although the lions got an early jump and pressed hard in the 3rd. Nevertheless Shaw gave the 3,2,1 to brisbane. i didn't think that the lions were great, they played well but so did the pies - didak was good in patches, licuria had a very good game as did dimmatina keeping voss quiet, holland nearly snatched the game with his own boot, and nick davis was solid. Not only this but shaw rarely gives credit to us and when the lions take a mark he yells "brilliant mark", when we do he says "the lions player should have done better there". Is he bitter or what??

Then he comes out and says richmond should get rid of richo (aka "the big girl"). now i hate richo, but the value of a player like that, even though inconsistent is worth gold by taking at least 2 solid defenders out of the play. this is a guy who has never lived up to his potential, but he can win the odd game here or there (ant rocca style) but is a handy drawcard. no wonder we recruited badly (think j.taylor, s.gibson, j.barnett not tarrant and fraser,etc)under shaw as he hasn't a clue and didn't make the finals since 1994.as far as i'm concerned he can get stuffed, i hate when he commentates on our games, he is worse than boofhead brereton!

I have noticed that at a lot of games this year when im in the bar at Colonial watching the game. I think there is a hint of jealousy at our current success. I love Tony Shaw as he was a fantastic player but he is very harsh on our team and very rarely gives them credit.

I also recall Tony Shaw when he was coach stating that Anthony Rocca would never be a forward. This was after a practive match against the Kangaroos at Vic Park. All Anthony Rocca needs is for people to believe in him. Confidence is an amazing thing. I think everyone knows from lifes experience that when somebody shows faith in you usually you perform better in whatever it is that you are doing.

Then Tony Shaw said he would trade Matthew Richardson. I would have thought it would have made more sense to try and develop Matthew Richardons potential. Surely isnt that what being a coach is all about ?? Thats why i like Mick Malthouse so much as you can tell that he really cares about his players. I think the players would respect this.

I thought Collingwood actually played pretty crap on Sunday. Although, I too believe that Shawry is too hard on Collingwood.
