Wow! There's obviously some history I'm not aware of here, but I'd be surprised if there'd be too many Nicksters who'd describe David as a disrespectful tool. That's really going overboard TP. I have had occasional differences of opinion with David, but he has always been sensitive and respectful; never personal. Heard this one before. It's a really cynical line of argument from the anti-Islam lobby that ignores the fact that rape (and associated crimes) are the products of socioeconomic disadvantage and dysfunction, not religious adherence. To construe this as part of a 'Muslim problem' is a tool of Europe's Hansonite anti-immigration right to spread conflict and hatred.

A more relevant issue to consider with Swedish statistics, however, is that the definition and reporting rates of rape have changed markedly over the past two generations, particularly in social democratic countries where feminist lobby groups have had more impact on lawmaking. There is practically no other country in the world where Julian Assange could have been charged for the actions he is accused of, for instance. And, like domestic violence, rates of reportage (not necessarily incidence) have climbed all over the world as women have been empowered to report these crimes.
