I hope he goes to Carlton and is made to suffer. Easily the BIGGEST Mercinary in modern day football.

Michael may be sacrificed by the Lions

Triple Brisbane premiership player Mal Michael could join Nick Stevens and Nathan Brown as the most valuable trading chips on offer when the official AFL trading period begins tomorrow.

Reports from Brisbane suggest Michael could be the victim of the Lions' salary cap dilemma, after the club spent most of the past week unsuccessfully trying to secure deals for a host of uncontracted stars including Nigel Lappin, Luke Power, Martin Pike, Robert Copeland, Alastair Lynch, Craig McRae and Daniel Bradshaw.

Rather a dent to young Mal's ego, one would think. His ego being something that has thrived in the Brisbane climate. I feel so sad for him!!!

Let's be honest. When he was at the Pies, he was just an ordinary player in a frankly v ordinary team. At the Lions, in a champion team, he has looked good.

If the Lions are needing to off-load, some are definitely worth looking at. Not him.
he's an animal, what can u expect!!!

Wouldn't we love to see that that in the #10 gurnsey at Caaaaaaarlton:

2002: Michael Mansfiled, unwanted Cat-hack
2003: Mick Martyn, washed-up and culled Roo
2004: Mal Michael, greedy cash-cow Lion carcas

Join the growing list of MM's wearing #10 at Carlton. Let's see all your fancy double-fisted spoils in defence next year as the ball sails back over your head every five minutes.

And if that all gets too hard, you can go and cry in the medical rooms saying your back is too sore again while you count all your money.

If someone said to me that you have a choice between Nick Stevens or Nigel Lappin. I would choose Lappin any day of the week.
All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.
