Motlop agrees to stay with Roos
The Kangaroos are pleased to announce that up-and-coming youngster Daniel Motlop has agreed to terms to extend his contract with the Club for a further two seasons.
Motlop, 21, was drafted by the Kangaroos with selection No.8 in the 2000 National Draft.
He made his senior debut in 2001, with injury halting his development in his first two seasons with the Club.
This year though the former Wanderers player forged a more permanent position in the senior line-up, playing 15 games, taking his career total to 22, and earning the youngster a National AFL Rising Star nomination.
Kangaroos Football Manager Tim Harrington said Motlop had a bright future ahead of him and the Club was thrilled he had agreed to continue his career at Arden St.
"While there was some suggestion Daniel may have been headed to a new club, he was always a required player at the Kangaroos and we never wavered from that.
"We were always confident Daniel would remain at the Kangaroos and are pleased he has agreed to a new two-year deal today.
"We are building a good young team at the Kangaroos and players like Daniel will play an integral role in our success into the future."
