Who is commentating here with Gerard Whateley? In the last two minutes of this ABC call all he does it laugh :-D

Must be a Richmond supporter :-D

Richmond.

They had control of the game for longer periods than us but were unable to translate that into goals at crucial periods. They hit the post numerous times didn't they?

To be honest both sides looked ordinary to me for most of the night.

While our effort was much improved if we played Sydney again last night we still would have got hammered by over 10 goals IMO.
i suspect you're right. what makes me laugh is that of all clubs to have this type of calamity befall upon it, it's richmond.

Yep, thatswhatdiditfor me, and I thought we were shot when 17 down so late in the game. Yes it was ugly, still easy to list the faults, but you have to love it when guys and determination win out occasionally. Very few left wanting for desperation this week, what a turn around after last week,

I was still feeling pretty good when we started to fall away, never saw that come back doing, it really was amazing. So many positives, and it's all about the new blood, and kids coming through. Langdon coping a bit more than I expected here, at the game, where you see a lot more of what is happening, he was all over the ground, he tried his heart out. Blair as usual doing the grunt work. He may not be a part of the team the next time we hit the grand final, but by god he is earning his money helping these young kids with experience. Darcy Moore, so much like his old man with that epic mark, and landed on his feet. How bloody good to see Reid running around again. Great to see Cloke finally being played up the ground, his long smashing kicks forward can change the whole game.

Be really good though, not to see Marley do any more kick ins unless we are belting someone! OMG, he gave four away! And Pendles just doesn't suit defence. Brown so much better with Reid down back. Looking at the last two minutes again, gees Levi Greenwood was a great pickup, he just keeps getting his hands on it. Oxley was awesome, and I was wounding what was up with Grundy, he seemed a bit slow or injured, but hey, what can you say, what a great, calm effort that last kick! Flashes of Aish too.

But the headline is surely Alex Fasolo, oh man 6 straight in such an epic down dirty game. Bloody brilliant, sensational! To see three big defenders covering an under 6 foot forward at the last gasp, gees that's funny!

Yes we have some stars to return, Varcoe so badly missed, sidey, Elliot, but give it up for those guys last night. Yes it was only Richmond, but they gutsed it out to the last sec. Proud. Respect.

Cheers!
You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either!

I like Williams willingness to take the game on.

I wonder if we could use him in a different role with more midfield time whilst Ramsay and Sinclair are available.
He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD!

Richmond can't finish in front of goal. If their forward line was as efficient as Hawthorn's at converting inside fifties into goals we would've got hammered.

In the cold light of day, the skill errors don't bother me so much. Some players with usually good skills had shockers and will bounce back, and other players will never improve their disposal in any meaningful way.

What bothered me last night and has done so for as long as Bucks has been in charge have been the defensive structures. Either his defensive set-ups are rubbish, or the players are unable to implement them. The team struggles to defend in a zonal manner. A lot of pointing and gesturing, and even running towards the wrong direction, but not a lot of manning up or taking responsibility.

Although I prefer to see Pendlebury play where it suits him best, I can see the long term benefits of having him learn to play defence.

Great turnaround after last week, which was the worst game I'd seen since the 80s

A very frustrating game to watch and I am still stunned we won. A weeks a long time in football. I was encouraged to hear Varcoe may be right for next week. I would still keep him out another week as I feel he is what's missing and is very important.

Last week we copped it from the media for drugs. Get ready for this week as we will be the racist club once again because of the anti Muslim banner. Mind you, US Presidential hopefuls can slam Muslims everyday of the week and all is fine. What a mixed up world we live in.

"United Peoples Front", sounds like something out of Monty Pythons "Life of Brian".

I'm still concerned by our lack of outside run and lack of run and spread. I don't know what the stats say but the majority of lose ball gets seem to go to our opponents. I know I mentioned it last year and I was told that it's because we play a contested brand of footy that requires numbers around the contest. But I don't know. My heart is my mouth every time the footy is cleared from congestion because it always seems our opponents have more outside runners than we do.
