With the captain ball watching, what do you expect?stui magpie wrote:There's one reason and one reason only we lost that game.
St Kilda worked harder than us. They were willing to run hard to defend, to tackle, to make a contest and to spread in attack. We had too many players ball watching and only prepared to run hard forward of the ball.

Pendles always strikes me as a captain who tries to lead by example through his actions rather than what he says to his teammates. He's a passive figure compared to someone like Maxy or Bucks for that matter.think positive wrote:I'm gunna say it
Our captain stinks
He sits outside time and again and watches for the ball to pop out.
Is he injured? Then don't play him. He gives nothing.
It's not necessarily a bad thing in all instances but he's far from the perfect captain in my view but is there anyone else better and viable that could replace him in the near future if we chose that path.

Interesting game and for people that bagged Richo the coach, all I can say is time to eat humble pie. His nothing team just pulled our teams pants down and gave it to us with no lube. There is an issue at Collingwood FC and they best sort it out. This reminds me of the mid 80s. A lot can happen in a week, but geez bruise free footy at its best is worrying. A win next week evens it up but I would actually like to see the team perform to its potential.
Sleep on it, the sun will come up tomorrow and let's look to next week.
For those who bag the naysayers? What's your thoughts this week?

Agree on the replacement but his apparent lack of on field leadership, particularly when things go south, stands out like dogs balls.Jezza wrote:Pendles always strikes me as a captain who tries to lead by example through his actions rather than what he says to his teammates. Yup, can't disagree with anything you've posted. I also had big expectations.WarrenerraW wrote:We are a nothing more than a pathetic rabble who will be playing for a bottom 4 spot this year. We have not improved and don't look like improving. I had big expectations coming into this season but all is lost now. How can we be this bad? Where's the heart, the desire, the intensity and willingness to win at all costs?
We're slow and inept at moving the ball on quickly to create opportunities. Our zone style of play means that our opponents are left with acres of free space to receive the ball. All opposition forward entries are done with ease. We're made to earn ours. Why are we not making our opposition accountable?
Time and time again I see 3 or 4 of our players taking on one opposing player while their opponents wait for the handball receive over the top.
We're a sloppy team with poor skills and judgement. Why aren't these deficiencies ironed out at training?
Either this 'game plan' is not right for us - meaning the coach is clueless or the players are not right. I suspect it's both. Bucks has all but lost me. It's a great speaker and I want to believe in what he says but I don't see any evidence of it on the field. What's even more alarming is that we've gone and signed him up for another season.
Guys enough is enough. No more excuses. I don't want to hear bullsh!t like we missed sidey and varcoe. Or why didn't frost play... or so and so shouldn't get a game. As far as I'm concerned, the good majority of them aren't fit to wear the jumper. I don't want to go as far as to say I'm disgusted with this team but I'm certainly disappointed, that's for sure.
Everyone has got to be made accountable, from the board to the players to the coaches. We're seeing our club falling apart at the seams. I can take losing but I sure as hell can't take my team not having a go and giving 100% We're plodders and with far too many list cloggers and unskilled players who can't adapt to the modern style of football.
I see a player like Crisp ... excellent in his first half season, great decision maker and accurate with his kicking. Langdon similar, cool, calm, accurate. Couldn't say the same about their current state.

I'm going to assume this is sarcasm.princem007 wrote:I believe we are starting season slow on purpose and then have a big second half of year. We have been 8-3 last 2 years and missed finals. Time to pull the pin on Buckley and make a change. Beveridge had an immediate impact with Dogs. We are going backwards at a rate of knots. The team is spiritless and lacks a team first ethos. That is the responsibility of the coach. The talent does not match the performance. We can't waste more time - Bucks is Terry Wallace at Richmond... always next year it no delivery.
The big question is who do we go to replace him?

That, old mate, is the $64,000 question. The amount of coaching turnover in the last few years means the ranks of readily available senior coaches in waiting have been considerably thinned. If we did part ways with Buckley, I'm not sure there's a better option available.DT wrote:Time to pull the pin on Buckley and make a change. Beveridge had an immediate impact with Dogs. Hard to get rid of bucks with the president there but let nicks bulletin board pick the team so he cannot have his favorites. He has played players past their prime and seems to be unable to make a big decision even when form suggests otherwise.

Keep calm everyone. Bucks is still rebuilding. It will take another 5 more years. Just shut up, buy your membership every year and turn a blind eye to spineless performances because Bucks has his eye on the ultimate prize in 5 years. Don't worry about us going backwards since 2011. Oh, no. They're just details. Pies will shake the competition this year. Because Eddie said so...
Now to reality. Bucks will not win a Premiership for Collingwood. I've said it. I couldn't care less what the Eddie and Bucks ass lickers out there think. I was willing to give Bucks a chance. Those chances are finished. There's a limit.
But let me as this question and be honest with your opinion:
IF IT WASN'T BUCKS COACHING, WOULD THAT OTHER COACH HAVE SURVIVED 5 YEARS AT THE HELM?
