Stevens vs McGough [ Who do would you prefer?]
Stevens I guess would be the best out of the two, but have we seen the true McGough yet?
He should have played finals in '02 but had to do exams due to schooling and had a decent year in the reserves. How do we know he isn't ready to hit form next year? I'd hate to see McGough traded to Port only to turn into a real Superstar...That is sooo Collingwood Recruitment circa mid 1990's.
I have my doubts about Stevens...
Are my thoughts shared by anyone else? lol

Tradition? Pfft you call merging with Fitzroy and cheatin to 3 flags Tradition? Winning 4 flags in a row is history, which makes tradition!

Its a chance you have to take. McGough performed poorly this year and has only shown glimpes of the form he displayed in his first two games. On the other hand Nick Stevens has performed at a high level for a number of years. If I had the choice I would trade McGough for Stevens. If however a trade like that couldn't be organised I wouldn't be too upset at having McGough for another year or so to see if he can become the player he promised to be.

This is about Stevens and McGough...Scotland isn't an issue as he wants to leave. He would have been good if we could keep him. Scotland, if not let go now could turn into a mini Nick Davis situation I dont think the Pies need another one of those.TuPaC wrote:i'd prefer Scotland over McGough personally

You people have to be kidding right, Mcgough has played 4 good games in 2 years, his first in 2002 against the Hawks the following week against the Bummers in Anzac day, the Rd.8 game against the Lions and this year his second half against Geelong.
Stevens has been a regular performer for 3 to 5 years and a very good one at that, I think bias is coming out maybe it's time to take the blinkers off, Mcgough is an ordinary player at best he is good in and under but his disposal is shocking for a player at AFL level.

Many would have jumped at the thought of getting rid of Rhyce Shaw this time last year... McGough is very similar to Rhyce in his development. I also can't see Malthouse getting rid of a player who he has time to time given a great wrap as having a football brain and so forth.
I agree McGough is nothing compared to Stevens at the moment. Lets bloody he doesn't turn into anything decent at Port if he ends up there.

I Hope Collingwood gets Stevens tomorrow, i know it's looking bleak right now but we all know if he played for the pies then he would put in 110%
Not saying Mcgough doesnt.
As long as we don't trade Didak, then i hope we get him.
