I like Oxley in the side.
Agree, at one point was free kicked because of the umpires shit bounce.....

Also thought he set the tone, others came good around him, but he was 100 percent aggression from the get get go. Oxley is by far our most composed user out of the back half.

Intensity was great especially early. Where has that been for the first 7 games. Need to bring it again next week.
And the "Trealor is useless thread AND the Blair is useless thread AND Jesse White is a waste of space thread.AND Haven't seen anything in Howe to excite me thread. Yes it was only?? The lions but a 13 goal away win, which could/should have been 20 will be happily taken and get ready for the Cats next week.

So was Frost our only key back? I take it Moore and White played forward. Interesting set up if that's the case.

This is what we were playing in the pre season games. No reason, apart from MORE injuries ,why we can't pick up that thread and go.

Howe was down back and played a good game and the Ox and Smith were good as well. Not KPs but our mid field prevented too much ball going down back. A lot to be happy about last night.

Needs some fine tuning if we are to get anywhere near the cats. Backline looked suspect in second half so I hope Reid is back. Bucks always talks up Sinclair but this 7 disposals? Gota praise Blair even though I have been a knocker. Did Greenwood & Toovey do enough? Perhaps Darcy needs some help. Go Pies

For weeks the Senior players haven't stepped up and with Adams and Varcoe coming in allowed this to happen and the young kids stepped up with them. I gave us no chance and thought we would get smashed. Happy to be wrong and whilst many will say it's only Brisbane, it was a solid win. My frustration comes back to some of the short passing and missing targets by not a metre, by 10 metres.

Special mention about White, Jane stayed home and Jesse turned up. Best game for a while and he needs to bring that every week. I'm tipping the Cats to smash us next week as I love being wrong. :D

White is playing now as a running half forward, while Cox and Moore are the two leading key forwards. White can also be swung onto the wing or half back as required. This is a completely new role for White who now seems to have found his niche in AFL footy which will turn the corner for him as an AFL footballer (touch wood).

Credit where it's due. Jesse White has shown the stuff he is capable of in the last two weeks. I would have traded him out last year cos I couldn't see him back in our side ever. If he can keep this up now I'll be wrapped.

NRL double header curiously scheduled at the same time in Brisbane probably had something to do with that. 50k people at that event.

As I said last night.
Thought it was our best win in a year or so.
We tried to play a little fast footy for a change.
We set up the structures much better than last week.
Play the Pussies and Dogs next.
Whether we win or not is not the main issue for me.
It is the playing style that I will be looking at.
we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest.

I haven't seen the game, yet - but, from the highlights and from watching recent games, Blair seems to be getting much more involved in the contest at half back and starting scoring chains of possession from there. That is an encouraging thing, if he can maintain it.

True, my first game for season next week, don't expect a win, but as long as we have a redhot go, and put that pansy Danger on his arse, that will do me. :P
